England complete win over Windies - reaction

More Eoin Morgan: "Moeen is pretty chilled about everything and he delivers when the team needs him to deliver, which is so important for us. He has been outstanding today.

England captain Eoin Morgan: "I am absolutely delighted, especially after losing the toss and losing an early wicket. I thought our start was outstanding. Moeen Ali’s innings was the difference between the sides, certainly with the batting anyway.

"Our bowlers were up against it on this wicket so I thought they did well. The West Indies are like us in that they like to score boundaries, but huge credit to our guys who stuck to their plans. Gayle is one of the best players in the world and we came up trumps."

I think Liam Plunkett is back on the radar for the Ashes. The one thing I worry about with England - if Mark Wood is injured - is a lack of pace. You need something a little different from Anderson and Broad. Perhaps even Craig Overton at Somerset... somebody who is different who could create something. At the minute, the fact Australia have bowlers all capable of bowling at 90mph... that could be the difference when the ball stops swinging.

West Indies captain Jason Holder: "We leaked runs at the death and we paid for it. We brought ourselves back into the game well in the middle stages with the wickets. Then a decent start with the batting but we didn't keep wickets in hand. The seamers did a decent job but just not as consistent as we would have really liked.

"We need to be better in the field. The players need to take the ownership on themselves, to stay on their game. "

England's Moeen Ali, who scored 102 off 57 balls: "It was a good time to come into bat today. I could play myself in and then had licence to clear the small boundaries. They bowled a lot which were in my slot. On another day, I could have hit one up in the air and got out cheaply."

Jason Cole: Chris Gayle is the new Inzy...

No matter what you say about Chris Gayle, he always brings something to the game. He just wants to bat without running. I've no idea why he bothers running. He's great for the game though, he always leaves you with a talking point - even when he's not playing, like in the second game of this series.

Anthony: This side is not far off the side we need for the Aussie's, do hope they take Hales as an opener in both formats.

The way Joe Root played today - he makes it look so simple across all formats. He doesn't change his tempo. I've no question that in five or 10 years' time, he'll surpass all records that are going. You can make a case now for saying he's our best ever.

It was a change of pace from Liam Plunkett and a good catch by Eoin Morgan - it's sometimes difficult to catch those under the lights.
