'No regrets'
Borussia Dortmund 2-1 PSG
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel: “We have no regrets. I have to make decisions before the game and I take responsibility. Nobody can say what would have happened with a different system.
“This system gave us the structure to attack and control the match, high up the pitch. I know that if the result isn’t perfect, it’s easy to say it was a mistake. Other teams have lost here as well. It can happen. For me, it’s not a question of structure but how we played.”
'Atletico face a huge, huge challenge'
FT: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Liverpool
Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
Liverpool's form at Anfield is just phenomenal. Atletico will unerstand what they're coming up against. They believe in what they're doing, but it will be a huge, huge challenge.
'I can still do better'
Borussia Dortmund 2-1 PSG
Borussia Dortmund's goalscorer Erling Haaland: "I am glad about the man of the match award, but feel like I still can do a lot better. I have to play better at this level, have to work hard to improve.
"The result is quite a dangerous one, as PSG has a very strong team and can still go through in the return leg."
'This is how Atletico have written their history'
FT: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Liverpool
Guillem Balague
Spanish football journalist on BBC Radio 5 Live
This is how Atletico Madrid have written their history. When they are the underdogs, when eveybody least expects, they come out with something like this. Their best performance of the season so far by a long way. Lodi was fantastic, so was Saul Niguez.
When they scored the first goal, they realised that if they defended compact on the edge of their own box, Liverpool struggle with that. Oblak was not even tested, extraordinary for Atletico.
'The goal we got is important'
Borussia Dortmund 2-1 PSG
PSG defender Marquinhos: "We dominated possession in the first half. We weren't intense enough with or without the ball. We did a lot of things badly. They tried to pounce on our mistakes.
"They made the most with a very strong forward, but the goal we got is important for the second leg."

Erling Haaland's two goals tonight means he is the joint top scorer in the Champions League this season, level with Robert Lewandowski.

'Welcome to Anfield, it is not over yet'
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BT Sport: "It was not exactly what should happen but it happened. It was the fight we expected and the atmosphere we expected but I love so many parts of our game. It is only 1-0 down at half time and the second half we play at our stadium.
"We lacked in the final third. They defended with all they had - their defending in the box was incredible. When you are 1-0 down with a team like this who only want this kind of result - 0-0 would have been good for them.
"He [Sadio Mane] was targeted. It was clear. They wanted to make sure he got a yellow card. It is only half time but you need to be really strong as a referee in this atmosphere. Already in the first 30 minutes three of their players went to the ground I don't know what for. Nobody to blame. I am fine, 1-0 down at half time we have the longest half time break and we will use that.
"Welcome to Anfield. It is not over yet."
On his own booking: "It was too much. I am pretty sure, was it a throw-in for us before the first goal? That doesn't help to stay calm. All human beings make mistakes.
On Jordan Henderson's injury: "It was hamstring which I hope was precaution. I am not 100% sure but we will see."

Oh and if you can find a replay of Erling Haaland's second goal tonight, have a watch and turn the volume up full whack.
The noise the ball makes as it hits the back of the net...
'I expect a different game at Anfield'
FT: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Liverpool
Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
Liverpool have to move the ball a lot quicker than they did tonight. They were taking two or three touches to get the ball under controil. Firmino, Salah and Mane were too lethargic on the ball in the first half.
At home, I expect a completely different game, different atmosphere, Anfield will be boisterous, the team will be firing. It wouldn't surprise me to see Naby Keita or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain start in midfield, a more forward-thinking player who can draw defenders out of positions.
'Van Dijk was shaky'
FT: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Liverpool
Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
Van Dijk was shaky and I don't often say that about him. He looked a bit uneasy, but he's only human, he's allowed to have off-days. He'll be disappointed himself.

'They celebrated as if they won the tie'
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool fullback Andrew Robertson, speaking to BT Sport: "The corner just ricocheted, it was tight but onside. We gave them the best possible start and that gets the fans behind them and then they start falling over and getting under the skin a bit.
"We put in a decent performance and we know we can be better. We've got a second leg to put it right.
"They celebrated as if they won the tie after the game. They are coming to Anfield and we know our fans will be there."
It's Haaland's world...
Borussia Dortmund 2-1 PSG
It was not Liverpool's night but it was another headline-grabbing display by Erling Haaland.
A brace tonight, 11 goals in seven games now for Dortmund.
He's averaging a goal every 41 minutes since moving to Germany.
What a player.
'We have another 90 mins to set it right'
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, speaking to BT Sport: "We conceded the goal from the corner, first chance for them, not even a chance. Bit of luck.
"The message at half time was to keep playing. We had the ball most of the game but unfortunately could not create massive opportunities. We still have another 90 minutes to set it right.
"It is the way they play. It is a bit of the Spanish football as well and you have to adapt but we knew it and I feel we handled it pretty well."
