Man charged after teenager stabbed
A 26-year-old man from Plymouth has been charged with grievous bodily harm after a teenage girl was stabbed in Bardwell, near Bury St Edmunds.
The attack happened yesterday between 07:30 and 08:30 at a house on School Lane.
The victim, who's 16, alleged that a man, who'd also been present at the address, attempted to steal her handbag.
An altercation occurred and she was stabbed in the shoulder and arm, police said.
The man ran out into the street with the handbag.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen a man run out of a house.

Bury St Edmunds kick-off a run of fixtures tomorrow that will test how far they've come under new coach Ollie Smith.

After winning their last four games in National League Two South, the Wolfpack are at sixth-placed Redruth.
They also have to face second-placed Taunton and Canterbury, who are fourth, this month.
"Redruth are always going to be tough at home," Smith told me. "They've been around this division for many years now.
"They're a typical Cornish side who'll be up for a battle, probably very forward orientated, with a few stars in the backs, which seems to be a recipe that works in that part of the country.
"I think in two games' time we're going to have a good idea of where this group is at. It'll show up more than these first five games have shown."
Glenn Driver's men are currently third on goal difference alone, but with the two sides above them meeting, a win over Staines Town at Victory Road could take them top.
Two of our clubs are in FA Trophy preliminary round action: AFC Sudbury host Aylesbury United while Bury Town head to Ramsgate.
Call for better links between old and new parts of town centre
The town centre management group in Bury St Edmunds has called for the separation between the Arc Shopping Centre and the historic part of the town to be addressed.

The forthcoming closure of Palmers department store, on the corner of Abbeygate Street and the Buttermarket, is being partly blamed on being away from the Arc.
Mark Cordell, from Our Bury St Edmunds, said a linking area needs looking at again.
"Most people will be aware that was supposed to be part of the Arc development back in 2009. It never happened and it still hasn't been fully resolved," he said.
"We still get occasional visitors new to the town that visit one part of the town and aren't aware of the other, and vice versa."

Further arrest after three men stabbed
We now know that two men in total have been arrested after a fight in Ipswich last night, which resulted in three people being taken to hospital with stab wounds.

Police were called just after 03:10 to reports that two men were involved in a fight in Cardinal Park with a group of other people surrounding them.
During the incident, other people became involved, resulting in three men sustaining stab wounds. They were taken to hospital - one having suffered a potential punctured lung - but none of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
A 21-year-old man from the Colchester area has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm, and a 19-year-old man from Ipswich has been arrested on suspicion of affray.
It's believed some of the parties involved were known to each other.
Cecilia Street is currently closed and use of Wolsey Street (from Franciscan Way) is access only for buses and taxis to Cardinal Park.
Breeding success for rare seabirds against the odds

terns, one of the UK’s rarest seabirds, have had a successful breeding season
along the Suffolk coast with 21 chicks fledgling.
Finding safe beaches to nest and feed their young free from predators and human
disturbance is an annual challenge.

further challenges after 10 little tern eggs were illegally taken from nests at
a colony in Kessingland.

Phil Pearson, RSPB senior conservation officer, says the charity is "delighted" the birds have increased in numbers in Suffolk this year.
However, he says it is "crucial" that safe breeding sites are maintained into the future, and that threats such as high tides, predators and human disturbances are minimised.
'I've had more fun at a funeral' - Butcher on England

A man has been arrested after three people suffered

Police were called to the area between the Unit 17 nightclub and Cineworld on Cardinal Park at just after 03:00, where a large group of people were fighting.
Those stabbed were taken to Ipswich Hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
An area of Cecilia Street - opposite the club and to the side of the cinema - is cordoned off for the police investigation.

It's a rather chilly start, but there will be lots of blue sky and sunshine around today and the winds will be lighter than yesterday.
It is due to stay dry, so should also feel very pleasant in the sunny spells.
A fine sunny end to the day across the BBC East region, but isolated
showers are possible, particularly in north east Norfolk.
It'll be clear overnight with the risk of a touch of ground frost in
sheltered spots as it dips to 5C (41F).
Friday will have a cold start followed by sunny spells and the risk of showers feeding in across eastern parts of
Norfolk and Suffolk.
The temperature will peak at 14C (57F).

Town centre fashion store to close
The closure of a Bury St Edmunds department store is not a cause for concern, according to the man who helps run the town centre.
The owners of Palmers Fashion Store on Buttermarket, say high business rates is one of the reasons the shop will close early next year.
But Mark Cordell says Bury is a thriving town, with very low vacancy rates.

The West Row side has drafted in Matt Bates as a guest, in place of the injured Connor Mountain.
"Realistically if we come away 10 points down we'll be ok," chairman Kevin Jolly told BBC Suffolk Sport.
"I think we'll be better than them around our place, we'll be stronger than them on Sunday (in the second leg)."
