Have a read of the report

We are back on Tuesday for Champions League action.

    Until then.

  2. 'We deserved more'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Unai Emery, speaking to BBC Sport: "Good evening.

"We deserved more. I think the first half the very clear chances were for us. Then we conceded more corners than we wanted and they scored one from a corner. There was a very clear penalty and I think VAR is for that.

"The second half the defence was more deep and had good control of the match. There was less space in the second half but we still had three or four chances. We deserved more but they are a very strong defensive team.

"We created 12 corners for us and we conceded seven or eight. They score one goal from one corner."

"We prepare for the matches the same home and away and think to win."

  3. 'They have one chance and score'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka, speaking to Sky Sports: "They have one chance, they score. We have maybe two or three chances and if we score first maybe the game change.

"It was a great chance for our side. I would say if he scored that maybe the game changes.

"I don't know. We speak always, each training, each away game, each home game. We don't look at the table. It is so, so, so early to look at the table.

"We have to work to improve the things we didn't wrong. I thought we did a lot of things right.

Are you still moving in the right direction? "Of course. If not we are in the wrong position but we believe in our stuff."

Alistair Shaw: I'm not sure under Wenger the result would have been any different but at least the team had an identity then, a personality. I'm not the only one saying it either.

  5. 'Ozil will come under scrutiny'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Lee Hendrie

Former Aston Villa midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It seems like there are massive issues behind the scenes with Mesut Ozil as to why he's not playing.

He's a world class talent but when you'e earning that type of money, then you are going to come under scrutiny for earning that money AND not playing.

Arsenal have either got to ship him out and bite the bullet, or try and get him playing for the side again - but I think it's down to their own doing that they have caused this problem.

  6. 'Ozil not performing for Arsenal'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Chris Sutton

Former Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I don't care how much Mesut Ozil is paid, the main thing is how he's is performing on the pitch in an Arsenal shirt - and he's not.

We aren't party to how Arsenal train or what's goes on but if Ozil was doing that well - and we know what a superb talent he is - Unai Emery would know what impact he would have on the team, so he would play him, because he wants to win games and improve.

There must be something amiss and it looks Ozil will have to sort this situation out himself.

  7. Post update

And what is going on with Mesut Ozil??

Naim Rahman: So the usual scapegoats Mustafi and Ozil are nowhere near this team but we're still just as poor. Everyone pointing the finger at Emery.... I think it's right. He's making some poor decisions and not setting the team up right.

  9. Post update

My favourite thing in football is Unai Emery starting every interview with "good afternoon/good evening".

  10. 'We did not deserve to lose'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Unai Emery tells Sky Sports: "We did not deserve to lose and we conceded a lot of corners in the first half and they scored in one action. Above all, we have to improve by not allowing balls like that. When we have our opportunities to attack, we created more chances than them but did not score today. We deserved more from the game but they have conceded the least goals in the Premier League and it was going to be difficult if they scored first. We tried in the second half, created three good chances to score.

"The scorer was with our goalkeeper and we had three players free to attack the ball. They gave us a key moment - the goal and another one when we should have had a clear penalty on Sokratis.

"Bukayo Saka drives forward but I do not know if it was a penalty. It is a hard action for a yellow card. With VAR, the foul on Sokratis should have been reviewed. it was clear but we have to accept it.

"We did not deserve to lose and we will think about where we can improve. When we were losing 1-0, we controlled the game but and defended well but they had a lot of players in their box so it was difficult to achieve attacks. We created three or four chances and we spoke about scoring one goal, we could have controlled it better if we did.

"We have challenges in each match. Tonight we had a big challenge to get the three points. We are playing some young players who are taking experience but the most important thing is to win. The result is one thing, but we can analyse positively."

  11. 'We are here to compete'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Sheffield United

More from Chris Wilder to BBC Sport: "We always have to up our game. We are in the division to compete and we are doing. There will be times things go against us but these players come roaring back from disappointment.

"Pressure is off us. We are down as bookies favourites to go down so we will stick together and keep believing.

"Things change quickly we just want to go into every game and get something. We have earned the right to play here so we might as well see what we can do."

On goalscorer Lys Mousset: "Brilliant for him. He is a really popular boy. He took a bit of time to get up to speed but he had something for us that was a little bit different."

  12. 'A big performance and a big result'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, speaking to BBC Sport: "Fantastic reward for quite a long journey, beating one of the big teams at home in a night match. We have deserved to win a tight game. We knew they would have some chances and have a lot of the ball.

"I thought we got the balance tonight. We had to put in a big performance and get a big result.

"The players know what is expected of them. We have to play, we have played to get into this division and we have to play to keep in the division.

"It is Arsenal, no disrespect it is not a League One team but we have managed to win a tight game at home."

  13. Post update

    FT: Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Chris Sutton

Former Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

You could say Chris Wilder is old school in his ways but you can see that the players absolutely respect him.

I thought the difference tonight was hunger. Arsenal looked like prima donnas, like they could just turn up at Bramall Lane and take three points.

  14. 'We are up for the battle'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Sheffield United

More from Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder: "We have to look at every game on its merits and we are solid defensively. We want to go forward an drive their best players back but it is an incredible difference from the Championship. This was always going to be a game where we had to make sure we did our job defensively and kept our shape. We had some decent opportunities and made up we got the result. We are not taking about plaudits, we want points and it is a big three points tonight.

"Whatever is put in front of us, we have to attack. People look at the stats, the away form has not been great but two promotions in three years and we are against big hitters in managers and teams. We are quite happy that they have not scored and it was a good all round performance form us. The atmosphere at the end drove us to get the three points.

"Every game we will try to get something from. I know it is quite boring from me, but that is where it is at. Accumulation of points, if we can stay in the division then fantastic. We have to ask questions of team who come to Bramall Lame, we are up for the battle and delighted with the points total so far."

  15. 'A great result'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder tells Sky Sports: "To host a game like this, the magnitude, to play like that and get the win. We limited them to few chances and backed up a good performance with a good result. We did not get that a few weeks ago against the European champions but three points is a great reward for the players.

"It is absolutely crazy that we can open up against Arsenal. we saw their ability, skipping round our challenges so we had to balance it in and out of possession. Getting ahead gave us something to hang on to. Dean Henderson made a couple of saves but it has tipped from the Liverpool game where we should have got something and tonight we did and we deserved it.

"If people had watched us in the Championship last year, we tried to play our own way and we tried to stick to our identity this year but we have to tinker our approach, especially in the middle of the park. We have get the balance right, we have not been as clinical as we would like but we try to play when we can. We will try to win by any means, go long if we have to or play the press. It is not the biggest result in the club's history but a great one because it has been a difficult journey to get here."

  16. Post update

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie on Sky Sports: "I'm made up with the effort we put in. We knew they'd be vulnerable at set-pieces. We've said about matching performances to pick up points and we've done that.

"We knew it would be difficult for us this season. We're trying to play the way we did in the Championship and understand we're playing against a higher level opposition. We've married up three points with a good performance."

Jon Spurling: I’m certainly not advocating firing but if he were to leave tomorrow, I’d be 100% neutral about the whole thing. The biggest problem for me is that he doesn’t seem to know his preferred first XI.

Joe Mansfield: Emery has to go. No improvement whatsoever since taking over and you can’t risk wasting this squad on him. Get someone in who has a clear strategy, playing identity and can galvanise player

  18. 'It was a good feeling'

    Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United goalscorer Lys Mousset speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a good feeling and it was good to be back in the team.

"I wanted to say thank you to the manager for bringing me to Sheffield United and he told me just to play my football and try to score."

  19. Post update
