  1. Goodnight...

    Warrington beats Takoucht

    Josh Warrington

And that my friends is that. Just like Josh Warrington took care of business, hopefully so have we.

A 30th win of a tough, gritty career and it looks like he gets better each and every time.

In his home city he looks unbeatable for sure. He'll be in the WWE before you know it.

Thank you for joining us. Hopefully we are live-texting a Josh Warrington unification bout from Las Vegas in 2020.

For now, here is a full fight report.

Come back in the morning for a full report on Oleksandr Usyk's first bout at heavyweight. That will be taking place while you sleep.

    Sleep well.

  2. A destructive night...

    A ruthless, ruthless display.

    Warrington beats Takoucht

  3. Xu can next?

    Warrington beats Takoucht

Promoter Frank Warren confirms he's pursuing a fight with China's Xu Can, who fights next in November.

"We will sit down in the next couple of weeks," Warren tells BT Sport. "We are looking to see this guy Xu Can.

"Let's see the outcome of his next fight and we might be able to get that over the line.

"He wants a unification fight. People have avoided him there;s no doubt about it. Look at the support he has. He brings finance to a show and should be a no brainer."

  4. Post update

More Leeds United tunes blast around the arena in Josh Warrington's home city.

Where does he go from here?

He's just mentioned Gary Russell Jr. That would be immense.

  5. 'Coming for you all'

    Warrington beats Takoucht

Josh Warrington speaks to BT Sport: "Did you enjoy that guys? The fans deserved it. I think I took my frustration in not getting a unification bout out on him.

"It shows what we have been working on has worked. The last fight gave us all a wake up call. We worked on southpaws for the last 11 weeks and it paid off.

"I have made it very clear. I am open to any of them. Gary Russell Jr is kicking about. Shakur Stevenson could be fighting for the WBO. I am leaving my options open.

"Obviously Gary Russell Jr only comes out once a year. If Xu Can wants the fight here I am.

"Everyone has their passports at the ready. In 2020 we are coming for you all."

    Warrington KO
  6. Round two - Takoucht stopped

This is looking like an early dart. After being downed once Takoucht is in big trouble and a combination of vicious, accurate punching wipes him out a second time.

He makes it back to his feet but is in deep water here. The challenger is swinging desperately, then tries to grab hold to save himself. A hook from Warrington, it's heavy, Takoucht is all out here, surely it's over... it is.

The referee jumps in as a third knockdown was on the cards and that ladies and gents, is how you take care of a home title defence.

    Job done.

  7. Round two - Takoucht down.....

Sofiane Takoucht steps in to jab the body and takes a hook for his risk. Again he is backed to the ropes and a heavy right hand to the body gets home from Warrington.

He's getting joy and carrying the fight and TAKOUCHT IS DOWN! A right hand sent him down in the corner.

We could have an early night....

  8. Round one...

A lovely right hook from Warrington with a minute of the round to go. Takoucht a little scrappy and raw early on as he mixes it at world level for the first time.

Warrington walks him down, his white gloves forming a high guard. He has the Frenchman backed to the ropes and the bell sounds to end the pressure. Warrington's round. He served up the pressure and more productive work for sure.

  9. Round one...

Sofiane Takoucht, a southpaw, takes up his left-handed stance. Josh Warrington is right-handed - orthodox. That means their lead foot will be closer together and on times that makes for a a scrappy fight, full of tangles and clinches.

A few good, straight shots from the home fighter as "Yorkshire, Yorkshire, Yorkshire" rings out.

  10. Game on...

    Warrington v Takoucht

"Hailing from right here, Leeds, Yorkshire England, he is undefeated with 29 wins, six come by way of knockout. Tonight in his third world title defence, here is the reigning and defending IBF featherweight champion of the world, Josh, the Leeds Warrior Warrington."

The master of ceremonies has gone big.

Final instruction from the referee. Ding ding....

  11. Tale of the tape...

    Warrington v takoucht
  12. Post update

He we go then. A third defence of his world title.

    Over to you Josh...

  13. Bagpipes, football tunes, riots...

    Warrington v Takoucht

We have some bagpipes playing in the arena and a full band on show before Josh Warrington's Leeds United tuned begin to play.

Pablo Hernandez, the Leeds United playmaker brings his belt to the ring.

    Marching on together

    We're gonna see you win...

The Leeds tune ends and in plays the Kaiser Chiefs, 'I predict a riot'.

    Raucous.

  14. Rolling with Sofiane...

    Warrington v Takoucht

Sofiane 'baby faced' Takoucht doesn't quite have a baby face in my view. There's way too much stubble there.

Anyway, just to anger the Leeds crowd he goes for an Oasis track.

    Roll with it plays out.

    Don't ever stand aside

    Don't ever be denied

You wanna be who you'd be

    If you're coming with me

  15. Post update

    The music stops.

    Ring walks anyone?

Here's what Josh Warrington had to say about BBC Sport's write up on hospital visits he makes in and around the Yorkshire area.

"Kids shouldn't be worrying about chemotherapy sessions," he told 5 Live Boxing. "They should be out playing. It doesn't half put life in perspective. I go there and it chokes me."
