  1. 'Sterling hasn't peaked yet'

    England 5-3 Kosovo

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Raheem Sterling

When you see Raheem Sterling run with the ball at defenders, once he gets the other side of you you aren't going to catch him. He used to scuff things or not hit it properly, he's at a fantastic club and working with great footballers and he's learned, not just from Pep Guardiola but the players he works with.

The only way to play him is what we saw second half, it's to double up and cut his service off.

He needs to show at the Euros how good he is and then at the next World Cup. He hasn't reached his peak yet. He's on the rise very quickly.

Would I put him in the top 10 in the world? I'd have to sit down and look at all the players but he's on the conversation.

  2. Post update

And in fact I'm not waiting any longer, places to be.

We'll leave you with Chris Waddle's thoughts on Raheem Sterling's standout display.

Catch the match report here, see who you rated as man of the match here, and check out all of the latest tables here.

    Good night!

  3. Post update

We're still waiting on Gareth Southgate on BBC 5 live.

  4. Post update

Manchester City's Phil Foden scored twice as England Under-21s defeated Kosovo in Euro 2021 qualifying last night.

MK: Why isn't Phil Foden getting games in the center of midfield...he creates as much as any of the current midfield players!

  6. Post update

Harry Kane is now the joint 13th-highest goalscorer in England's history with 26 - same as Bryan Robson.

  7. 'You can't rely on the front three'

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

I thought Ben Chilwell looked a bit nervous. I'm not sure about Michael Keane being the ideal partner for Harry Maguire. I think the problem stems from midfield. Yes they work and get the ball back, but they don't create and I don't see them scoring goals.

You can't keep relying on the front three.

  8. First miss since Beckham

    David Beckham misses a penalty

Harry Kane’s missed penalty ended a run of 23 consecutive penalties scored in competitive internationals by England players, with Kane the first to miss in a competitive game since David Beckham at Euro 2004 against France.

  9. 'Devastating but obvious'

    England 5-3 Kosovo

England manager Gareth Southgate on ITV: "It had its moments! A bizarre game really. There were obvious poor errors for goals but I'm really pleased with the composure we showed.

"We had devastating attacking play throughout and we used the ball well.

"The mistakes were obvious, the errors, we have to be better. The players don't need me to tell them that. The outstanding parts of our play were obvious, the errors were obvious."

  10. Where does Southgate have work to do?

    England 5-3 Kosovo

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The midfield three, are they chipping in with goals? Making assists? Not really.

And I'm not sure about the centre-half pairing, who's going to play with Harry Magiuire? I'm not sure.

  11. Quick off the mark

    Gareth Southgate

Valon Berisha’s goal after 34 seconds was the first goal scored inside the first minute of an England international since Gareth Southgate scored against South Africa in May 2003.

  12. 'Sterling hasn't peaked yet'

    England 5-3 Kosovo

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Raheem Sterling

    All?

SMS Message: Got home from work just in time to catch the second half. All I've seen are two Kosovo goals, an England defence with about as much intelligence as an onion, and a penalty miss from Harry bleeding Kane. Needless to say I regret switching on the telly at all. from Jason from London

  14. 'A crazy game!'

    England 5-3 Kosovo

    Jadon Sancho

England winger Jadon Sancho on ITV: "It was a crazy game! I'm delighted to score my first goal for England. The opener was a bad mistake from us but it was a great comeback.

"It means a lot to me personally, and for my family it is a speical day. I dedicate the goals to my nan who was a big fan of me but has sadly passed away."

  15. Post update

    England 5-3 Kosovo

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

I give Kosovo a lot of credit, they scared England on occasions. Yes there were sloppy mistakes, I don't think the balance is right in the midfield.

But when you've got Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho you can always make chances.

  16. Elsewhere in Europe...

Turkey go top of Group H with a 4-0 win in Moldova. They lead France - who beat Andorra 3-0 (Wissam Ben Yedder scored late on) - on head-to-head record.

Iceland are three points behind after losing 4-2 in Albania, who are six points below the top two.

Portugal hold onto second place in Group B thanks to their 5-1 win in Lithuania, with William Carvalho adding to Cristiano Ronaldo's four goals.

Serbia moved up into third place in the group with a 3-1 win at Luxembourg, with Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring twice.

SMS Message: Really like Kosovo. Loads of skill and passion, and they actually came to play football, unlike most visitors... Definitely the second best team in the group and I hope they qualify. Lots to work on at the back for England, but that’s OK. Finally, an exciting qualifier! from Bill, Fulham

  19. FULL-TIME

    England 5-3 Kosovo

Well that was all good fun wasn't it?

Kosovo scored after 34 seconds, Harry Kane missed a penalty and England win 5-3.

Wonderful entertainment. Although probably a fair bit of work to do for Gareth Southgate.

  20. Kosovo break the internet

    England 5-3 Kosovo

It's not 14-6 to Kosovo, it just feels like it...
