  1. Post update

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

Gianluca Scamacca is the 161st player to score a Premier League goal for West Ham.

That is the joint most scorers for one team in the competition, along with Newcastle.

  2. 'We need Diego'

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Bruno Lage speaking to BBC Sport: "It is hard to take the result. We had two good chances. The first time West Ham went to our goal they scored. We tried to bring more energy in the second half.

"It is clear to understand that we are a different team when we play with a striker. Diego [Costa] had a big impact. We need him. He had a good chance to score from Adama’s [Traore] cross and he can give us a different dynamic. It is a big difference when we play with him or a man in the box.

"We need strikers. It is not an excuse because we are in a position where when we get good chances we have to take them and change the momentum. We are completely different when we have a striker in our team.

"I think that the people [Wolves board] trust in us and I continue to work. When we have started with a striker we have never lost a game in the Premier League. It is a club problem. When we have the ball we play well and create chances. He [Diego Costa] has had two weeks of work. We need him to be fit as soon as possible."

  3. Post update

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

Wolves are winless in eight Premier League away games (D2 L6), last having a longer run without a win on the road in the top-flight since a run of 10 between August 2011 and January 2012.

  4. 'We are a different team with a striker'

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Bruno Lage to Sky Sports: "Especially in the first 30 minutes we controlled the game. We controlled the game with the ball. In the first 30 minutes we had three good chances.

"In the second half we tried to bring more energy and be more aggressive in the final third. I don’t have doubts we are a different team with a striker in front of us. We had good chances. Diego Costa had good chances.

"For the chances we had and West Ham had, we don’t deserve that [to lose]. But it happened and we need to move on.

"Lukasz Fabianski did a fantastic job today. Good saves. We’re doing that. We need to work. I can say we are a different team when we have a striker. We don’t have luck with Sasa Kalajdzic and we need to solve it now with Diego. He can play 35 minutes today. I think he can play a good level.

    "We're under pressure."

On his double sub that was unpopular with the fans: "[We were trying] to be more aggressive in the middle and win second ball. To try to open up Adama Traore on the side. Chem Campbell had two or three good situations. I’m very proud of what we did."

On the pressure: "[We will] continue to work. I know the fans support us. We try to do our best for them. We’re in a bad moment, we don’t have goals or victories. We need to continue to work. I can promise we will work hard every day to bring good games and victories for the team.

"Look, we’ve played eight games. Look how many we lost when we had a striker in the team."

  5. 'The boys we’ve brought in will improve over time'

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

    West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes speaking to BBC Sport: "I wouldn’t have said our performance was miles better but we finished today and we defended better. Gianluca [Scamacca] and Jarrod [Bowen] had two brilliant connections with the ball.

"The boys are in great spirits and the new players have gelled in. The big thing was to get them playing as a team. Introducing new players and trying to get the players here last season back at the levels they were at.

"There are some that can go into the team right away. Gianluca had a virus for three weeks otherwise I’d have given him more playing time, which maybe wasn't obvious to everyone. And he’s still not quite there I think you can see 60-65 minutes is about right for him in the Premier League at the moment.

"I think the boys we’ve brought in will improve over time and time is something you need in Premier League. Bowen came back from the international break and said how thrilled he was. The most important thing is he plays well for us."

  6. Home comforts for Bowen

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

Some 18 of Jarrod Bowen’s 22 Premier League goals for West Ham have come in home games (82%).

Of all players to score at least 20 times in the competition, only Georginio Wijnaldum (85%) and Michael Carrick (83%) have scored a higher share in home games than Bowen.

  7. 'We got over the line today'

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes to Sky Sports: "It was really good. Some of our games have been really close. We've lost a few narrowly and had decisions go against us. We got over the line today.

"I don’t think we played as well today as we have in other games. Two good finishes. It's good those boys are on the scoresheet and hopefully it gives them confidence.

"Wolves are a good footballing team. We had to be patient and try to turn them over at the right moments.

"Gianluca Scamacca did really well for us today. People ask why we’re not playing him. But he needs to get a level of fitness and used to the Premier League. After 60 minutes we had to make a change. He led the line for us today. We’re really pleased with him today."

On all their summer signings: "You hope when you do it you’ll do it for the right reasons. I believe we’ve signed a lot of really good players. They’ll come good. I hope they do add to it. We felt we started to run out of steam from January or February and we needed more numbers and better quality. We need to give that quality a chance to come through and show what they can do.

"We’re trying to improve. We have played some brilliant football for two and a half years ago. Two years ago we were a good counter-attacking team. Then teams didn’t come onto us as much. When you bring all these players in, you would chose to bring in three or four if you could. Because of our numbers we had to bring in eight or nine."

  8. The fans 'don’t deserve to see what we're doing at the moment' - Neves

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves captain Ruben Neves speaking to Sky Sports: "We need to stop talking about performances. We always try to play our best to win but it is not enough. We need to make sure everyone goes on the same path.

"It is time to look to ourselves. What we are doing in the Premier League is not enough. Having the ball is not enough. It is in our hands to work on it. We know our quality but in a league like this it is not enough. If you don’t train like you play you will not be able to win enough games at the weekend. The good thing is we still have time to change this.

"I think everyone, including me can give a little bit more. We are not in good form so something needs to change. The people don’t deserve to see what we are doing at the moment.

"It is not the manager’s responsibility it is everyone. We are the ones that can get the results. It is about us not anybody else. We struggled a bit in the beginning with a lot of new players a lot of players going out but no more excuses."

  9. 'That was a strange red card'

    Fulham 1-4 Newcastle

    Fulham

    Fulham manager Marco Silva

Fulham manager Marco Silva speaking to BBC Sport: "Yes it was a disappointing afternoon, a strange afternoon. The red card made a huge impact in the game and the second goal killed our belief.

"It is difficult to talk about the challenge. I have strange feeling after seeing it many times on TV. People who play football know if you keep stopping the moments you will probably find five or 10 red cards in a game.

You have to keep looking at the moments to understand what you are seeing. The referee was clearly there. He told me it was a clear yellow card.

"After so long a time to find one picture of Nathaniel's tackle it is difficult for me to accept.

"If it will always be like that, I would accept it. But I am 100% sure that in moments like that, one will be a yellow card and that's it.

"This is the difficult situation to understand. We need to see consistency in these situation or you have to give the yellow card.

"I think in the next few weeks in tough matches you will see moments like this one where it will be a yellow card. These decisions feel strange to us.

"So congratulations to Newcastle. The scenario was made much easier for them after the red card. Even so, with 10 players in the first half, we should do much better in certain moments. In certain moments we were not aggressive enough. I can say the three moments they scored in the first half we could do much better."

Did you speak with the officials after the game?: "It is difficult because they don’t want to speak with us. Everything that we have to say to them they see as too much, so it is difficult to speak with them.

What he [referee Darren England] told me was that it was clear it was a yellow card when he saw the moment and, of course, after Mike Dean on VAR told him that he probably sees something more and he went along with that from the screen.

"I am really confident that 11 v 11 the result would have been completely different. Of course, things were easier for them after that moment. Even so, some things we can improve. The goals we conceded were sloppy in some moments, it is up to us to keep working on that, but that was a strange red card for us.”

On Aleksandar Mitrovic's injury: "Let's see, we have to wait more hours and days to see. We had to make changes because we had four other injured players, let's hope they can recover so that we can be stronger next week. I don't want to rely just in Mitro, all players not in the squad are important for us and it is up to us to keep working hard to recover them as quickly as we can."

  10. Post update

  11. 'We needed to win'

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

    West Ham United

West Ham goalscorer Gianluca Scamacca to Sky Sports: "It was amazing. We needed to win. Today we worked very hard. We needed a victory. Today it was so important to win. Keep going."

  12. Post update

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

West Ham’s victory ended a run of six Premier League home games without a win (D3 L3), while it was their first clean sheet in nine at home since beating Wolves 1-0 in February.

  13. 'A massive weight off my shoulders

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

    West Ham United

West Ham goalscorer Jarrod Bowen to Sky Sports: "It was just what we needed. We've not had the start we wanted. In the international break we regrouped our thoughts. Be a bit more clincial and a bit more dominant with our performance.

"We're a tough group to beat and break down. Two chances, two well-taken goals - and a clean sheet. It's a massive three points. We've got a lot of games coming up. It's really important. We've gone behind too many times and we're always chasing the game.

"It was my first Premier League goal of the season. It's a massive weight off my shoulders. I had a couple of chances today. When you're not scoring sometimes things don't drop for you. But I always do the basics and have the belief. I'm delighted with the goal and victory.

"I don't get caught up with the noise outside."

The pressure will be on the manager [Bruno Lage].

    West Ham 2-0 Wolves

    Michael Brown

Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

West Ham still pushing, being tight and making fouls stopping Wolves momentum, classic West Ham grind out performance and managed to get a lead and something to hold onto, something we haven't seen this season. They're in good shape and showed Wolves problems early in the game, been quick on their feet.
