  1. Good night

And on that note we shall say goodbye.

Head here for all of the action, reaction and reports from another great night in the FA Cup and join us tomorrow for more of the same.

    Au revoir.

  2. 'It's all to play for'

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder: "It was always going to be tough. We didn't under-prepare, we knew what we would face.

"It was a fantatsic start. The Reading punters got right behind their team and they lifted their game. It was never going to be easy.

"As a Championship side we knocked out so many Premier League sides in this cup and the League Cup so we knew it was never going to be easy. The biggest thing is getting through, it took us extra time to do it but my team turns up, is consistent in their performance as I've always said.

"We got the job done and found a way to win. It was a difficult night for us.

"The first box was ticked last week when we reached 40 points and now we're in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, tick.

"It's all to play for and you never know where these players can take this football club. There's a great desire to finish this season off as well as we can."

  3. 'Hard to take'

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

Reading manager Mark Bowen: "It's hard to take when you put that much effort in. We soaked up pressure and we had periods where we took the game to them. It was a game of few chances and we have been done by two crosses into our box.

"It was a long hard fought battle and it's hard to take. My players know what we're about and what we can do together.

"We have to take this on in our league form, we have 10 games to go and we will pick up points."

  4. Post update

In fairness when it comes to that rearrangement

    • Both clubs have the potential for a total of three Premier League matches to be postponed due to FA Cup participation.
    • There are only two midweeks clear of clashes with other competitions in which to re-arrange postponed matches.
  5. City v Arsenal now next week

    Arsenal

You've not got much time to plan for this but just had a statement from the Premier League.

The Premier League match between Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium has been moved to 11 March, 2020, kicking off at 19.30 GMT and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The original match was scheduled to take place on 1 March but was postponed due to Manchester City's participation in the EFL Cup Final that same day.

The game will be played next Wednesday to avoid potential fixture congestion for both teams towards the end of the season.

  6. Sharp wins it

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

Give him room in the box and he'll score.

    Newcastle

  9. FULL-TIME

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

Sheffield United are into the last eight!

  10. CLOSE!

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

    Pele!

Oh that's so close! Hit low from 20 yards, nutmegs Chris Basham and hits the side-netting.

  11. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

Not a sentence you expect to write in 2020 - Pele goes close from 20 yards but Dean Henderson makes a scrambling low save.

  12. 'We showed too much respect'

    West Brom 2-3 Newcastle

Video caption: Almiron confidently finishes to put Newcastle ahead at The Hawthorns

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic, speaking to BBC Sport: "I am proud of the performance but disappointed with the result. We showed them too much respect in the first half and if you give them too much time on the ball then they can hurt you.

"We were very unlucky to concede the second goal on the stroke of half-time. The reaction after conceding the third was brilliant. We came back and had more than enough chances to equalise.

"Unfortunately we ran out of time. We needed maybe five more minutes."

  13. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

George Baldock has to be switched on to defend well and clear a dangerous low ball. United almost there...

  14. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

Jordan Obita hits a low shot from range for Reading but it runs out of steam before reaching Dean Henderson.

    Five minutes remain.

Joey: As a Man United fan I've got a surprisingly large amount of time for Liverpool fans, and as much respect. But to hear the fans complaining tonight after the huge success they've been enjoying recently is appalling. You're better than that fellas. Enjoy the success your team fully deserves, especially as United aren't getting much!

  16. 'Nobody has to feel sorry for us'

    Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

Video caption: Arrizabalaga pulls off a trio of saves to keep Liverpool at bay

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp tells BBC Sport: "I would really like if you stop mentioning it (the Watford loss). But we deserved to lose because they scored twice and we made massive mistakes for both goals.

"After that it was a completely open game, we had three-four shots in a row in the first half and Sadio Mane was close to finishing but the intensity of the game is why we made some changes. We needed fresh legs and then it needs to settle a bit but conceding does not help. The boys reacted well, I liked it but the second goal is a problem and Chelsea defended physically well.

"We are not unlucky in these moments, we looked good and Adrian made a superb save initially before the first goal. We have to be ready in the moments. We played Chelsea and they play in counter-attacks and that is OK, in moments they struggled with us. A lot of parts of the performance I really liked. We know we have to improve, it is not about destiny, not about not clicking here or there, it is all about us and we have to take it in the right way. It is not the best three weeks of the whole season but it is a a chance to make it the best three weeks now and that is the plan.

"We are not interested in Atletico Madrid, it is all about Bournemouth. They are fighting with all they have and they did really well against Chelsea. Nobody has to feel sorry for us, we will win football games and that is what we want to do on Saturday."

  17. Sir Bobby would have been proud

    West Brom 2-3 Newcastle

    Alistair Magowan

    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

What a cup tie that was at the Hawthorns, former Newcastle manager and West Brom player Sir Bobby Robson would have been proud.

Perhaps a bit more nervy at the end than Steve Bruce or the visiting fans would have liked, but they are now one game from Wembley.

  18. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

Baldock on Baldock action out there now. Reading have sent on striker Sam up against brother George and they are wrestling at a corner.

  19. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

    Adam Williams

    BBC Sport at Madejski Stadium

Billy Sharp once had a very short and largely uneventful loan spell for Reading back in 2014.

Only made the 10 league appearances but still found the back of the net twice.

That's just what he does. Sniffs them out and produces exactly when you need him to.

  20. 'We switched off'

    West Brom 2-3 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Video caption: Phillips pulls a goal back for West Brom against Newcastle

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce, speaking to BBC Sport: "When we went 3-0 up we have switched off. Sometimes you think it's too easy and suddenly they get a goal back. It wouldn’t be Newcastle if we didn’t do something like that. Unfortunately it's in our DNA.

"Look, were are in the quarter-finals for the first time in years. We have been working on a different shape for the last 10 days."

On two-goal Miguel Almiron's contribution: "As I have said many times he has been a breath of fresh air. That little bit of confidence will hopefully do him the world of good.

"We have just seen the mighty Liverpool lose two or three games in a week…it can happen. When I walked through the door I said a cup run cannot do any harm."
