'I was 50/50 today'
FT: Leicester 0-1 Aston Villa
Aston Villa
Aston Villa match winner Ross Barkley talking to MOTD:
I was struggling all week, 50/50 today but felt good in training.
All week I havent trained - I was with the doc all week and they helped me out and I dedicated the goal to him.
I am loving it. All the lads have welcomed me, the manager the backrro staff are great.
A brilliant group of lads and the start is well earned. Each game you gather momentum.
'We will go again'
Leicester 0-1 Aston Villa
Leicester City
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to MOTD about whether injuries are having an impact: "It can happen. We don't want to use that. It is an opportunity for other players to come in.
"I didn't think we deserved to lose tonight, with the players we have we will compete.
"We tried to be too precise in the final third of the pitch. It was just that final ball when we get into the box. It is still very early and we will continue to work hard.
"We are disappointed tonight but we will go again."

'Unfortunate to lose'
FT: Leicester 0-1 Aston Villa
Leicester City
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers talking to Sky Sports:
I thought we were unfortunate to lose a very close game. We didnt work the keeper as much as we would like.
Second half became a bit of a basketball game, we got too stretched and Ross Barkley finishes really well.
Disappointing result but, with the players we had available, a good effort from them all.
We have a lot of games coming up. A number of players will need game time.

'We will savour what we are doing at the moment'
Leicester 0-1 Aston Villa
Aston Villa
Aston Villa boss Dean Smith: "We have seen Ross Barkley do that enough times for Everton and Chelsea so we are pleased he did it for us today.
"It was touch and go whether he started today. He had a knock to the knee but a great goal and a real battling performance by the whole team.
"I thought they started better than us to be honest. I thought they were playing through us a little too easily but saying that I thought we defended well in our box and that's another clean sheet. It was two good teams.
"It is a really good start. To come here and get the win, this is a really good team.
"Everyone has had a short pre-season. There are a lot of tired legs but they are getting into the season slowly but surely.
"We are just looking at the next game. We will savour what we are doing at the moment and look forward to the Leeds game."

FT: Leicester 0-1 Aston Villa
Aston Villa
Aston Villa's Ross Barkley talking to Sky Sports: An important win today. They were on top and we started slow but we improved and in end deserved it.
I was 50/50 in the week and [our club doctor] did a really good job getting me right. He said I would end up scoring the goal and I did so I dedicated the goal to him. The manager has given me the platform to play and I am excited and looking forward to every game.
A first for 90 years

History to repeat?
'Chalk and cheese - but a different level of discipline'
FT: Leicester 0-1 Aston Villa
Curtis Davies
Derby defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
It's brilliant stuff from Villa. They are following on from last season from what they did to stay in the league. Coming from the Liverpool game we are talking about chalk and cheese for the performance but this is a different level of performance. They showed a different level of discipline tonight. they got their rewards from hanging in and then the quality of Ross Barkley gets them those vital three points.

The Villa march on, it seems. A 100% record, they have probably not been at their best tonight but that moment of magic came their way and it came from Ross Barkley.

Ross Barkley gets his head up and whips his shot across Hamza Choudhury and into the bottom left corner. Kasper Schmeichel had no chance and it's two in two for Barkley.
