As a Liverpool fan I have no problem in recognising KDB as player of the year. What's not to like about his ability and vision?

It was a vote that certainly split opinions throughout the day, but in the end it was Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne who won a huge 45% of your votes to take the Premier League player of the year award ahead of Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk.

Collins Addo: It just amazes me when people say that KDB doesn't deserve the player of the year award because his team did not win the league. How many points were Liverpool behind City when Salah won the player of the year award?? Double standards!

Rhys Webb: Mané has been impeccable this year. He shapes the game. You can’t say KDB is POTY when City finish second and lose 9 games. VVD + Hendo aren’t anywhere near Mané’s level - they’re just bang average footballers with good leadership skills.

Nimfas: As a Liverpool fan The biggest disappointment for me was that Leicester city @LCFC missed the champions league spot!

Todd Collier: As a Newcastle fan, the biggest disappointment is the never ending takeover saga. But then again, as a Newcastle fan, every season is a disappointment.
