It’s back-to-school time – and we’re back too!

Here's what we're doing to support teachers, parents and students in the new school year.

The school experience may be very different this time, with staggered school days, year groups in ‘bubbles’ and the possibility of COVID outbreaks resulting in localised school closures.

To reflect this, we’ve got three brand new services for you:

  • Catch-Up Lessons: Key concepts in Primary Maths and English that your child might have missed last term. Home schooling wasn’t easy and there are key concepts that children may have missed. We’ve worked with teachers across the UK to create content in the areas it’s most needed. Just click on their current year group to find simple guides, delivering key learning from last term’s English and Maths curriculum. You can use the lessons to introduce the ideas for the first time, or as refreshers.

  • This Term’s Topics: Videos, quizzes and lots more to help children make a success of their school’s special autumn schedules. We’ve mapped our great BBC videos, quizzes and infographics to this autumn’s special curricula across the UK - and made them easy to find. You can use them as homework or for home-learning. Just click on your year-group and the subject you want to learn or revise. If you’re a GCSE or Highers students, our revision content is still there to support you, all divided into subjects and exam boards.

  • Curriculum-related Live Lessons: A series of 20 half-hour lessons featuring well-known BBC faces and programmes, which will bring schools and year-groups together for some fun and interactive shared learning. Tune in for the first one on Monday 14 September at 14:00, followed by a weekly lesson alternating Maths and English for KS1 and equivalent.

We will also continue to work with the fantastic partners that helped us deliver Bitesize’s Online Daily Lessons.

Have a wonderful autumn term!
