Why 'Sin City' has so many single fathers

Las Vegas, known for famous casinos and adult entertainment, is also home to more single fathers per capita than any other US city, according to census data.

A 24-hour work environment with many night shifts and plenty of temptations lead to more women abusing drugs and alcohol, a high divorce rate, and more men demanding sole custody over their children.

The court system in the US is also warming to the idea of men taking care of children in general. One in every five attorneys surveyed by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers has seen an increase in custody judgements favouring fathers.

But how do fathers cope with playing multiple roles at once, and is society ready for them?

The BBC's Franz Strasser spoke to single fathers in Las Vegas about the challenges they face.
