Girl, 12, struck by Tube train at Brixton

A 12-year-old girl has been struck by a Tube train in London leaving her with "life-threatening" injuries.

The incident happened at Brixton on the Victoria Line, during the morning rush hour.

The girl, who has not been named, was taken to King's College Hospital in nearby Camberwell for treatment.

The incident at about 08.40 BST, leading to delays, before police handed the tracks back to London Underground at 09:54 BST.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to reports of a person under a train at Brixton Underground station.

A British Transport Police spokesman said the girl remained in a "life-threatening condition".

The incident was not being treated as suspicious, he said.
