Amanda Palmer; Gary McKinnon's mother Janis Sharp

This week the Home Secretary, Theresa May blocked the extradition to the US of computer hacker Gary McKinnon. Gary’s McKinnon’s mother Janis Sharp says she has been on an "emotional rollercoaster" whilst fighting her son’s extradition. He admitted hacking into US government computers but claims he was looking for evidence of UFOs. Gary also has Asperger Syndrome which is a form of autism. He was arrested in 2002 and extradition proceedings began in 2005.

The American singer songwriter Amanda Palmer came to fame as one half of Brechtian punk cabaret band The Dresden Dolls and most recently Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra. Known for being heavily engaged with her fan community, she reached out to a crowd funding platform to fund the release of her new album ‘Theatre is Evil’. She raised over $1m dollars in just thirty days. She joins Jenni to discuss her music and performs live in the studio. Theatre is Evil by Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra is out now.
