A fish restaurant co-owned by X Factor host Dermot O'Leary has been broken into in Brighton.

Fishy Fishy in East Street was raided by a gang early on Sunday morning and a safe containing about £1,500 stolen.

Sussex police are examining CCTV to try to identify the gang and have urged witnesses to come forward.

PC Rachel Piggot said: "The safe would have been heavy and they would probably have needed a vehicle to remove it from the area."

She said Brighton would have been busy with people enjoying a late night out at the time.

O'Leary, 39, and two friends own the brasserie which prides itself on "local, seasonal and sustainable" fish.

The host of the TV talent show married his girlfriend Dee Koppang at a church in Kent earlier this month.
