Bangladesh police clash with protesters in Dhaka

In Bangladesh, police have fired tear gas and rubber bullets at opposition supporters in the capital Dhaka.

The main opposition party, the BNP, and its allies were holding a one-day nationwide strike to protest against a recent rise in fuel prices.

Schools and businesses closed and thousands of police officers were on the streets.

The BBC's Anbarasan Ethijaran reports from Dhaka.
