Paedophile ring members from Cheshire and Wiltshire jailed

A woman and two men who were members of a paedophile ring that abused victims at a remote farm have been jailed.

John Connolly, 42, and Joanne Gale, 36, both of Warrington in Cheshire, and Simon Collins, 58, of Chippenham in Wiltshire, were found guilty of child sex offences at Reading Crown Court.

Connolly was sentenced to 20 years, Gale to 14 years and Collins to seven years six months.

Four other members of the ring have previously been jailed indefinitely.

Connolly was found guilty of raping a child and Gale of aiding and abetting child rape. Both were found guilty of possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

Collins was jailed for commissioning a child sex offence and making and possessing extreme pornography.

Four men - Simon Wyn-Davies, from Windsor in Berkshire; Nicholas Cordery from Wiltshire; Peter Malpas, from Moulton in Northamptonshire; and Anthony Flack from Bristol - were jailed indefinitely for public protection in October.

Some of the offences for which all seven were jailed were carried out on Cordery's farm.

Speaking after sentencing, Det Ch Insp Noel McHugh said it had been "a very complex investigation, covering several police force areas".

He added that he believed "they have committed other offences" and said anyone who believed they had been a victim should contact police.
