The first of seven programmes in which the singer and songwriter Gloria Estefan shares her passion for Latin music. Tonight, she features the music of her homeland Cuba and traces the beginnings of the Miami music scene.

She plays songs by Beny More, Perez Prado, Celia Cruz, Roberto Torres, as well as her own first international hit Conga. Featured on Miami Sound Machine's 1985 album Primitive Love, the single appeared concurrently on Billboard's dance, Latin, black, and pop charts.

This series first broadcast on Radio 2 in 2011 and is repeated ahead of Gloria Estefan's Latin Christmas Eve special.
