China mine fire kills at least 11 in Hebei

A fire at a mine in China's Hebei province has left 11 miners dead, state media report.
The Xinhua news agency said the miners were killed by carbon monoxide poisoning, after a fan at the mine in Huailai County caught fire.
Two other workers were still missing after the incident, it quoted officials as saying.
China's mines have a notoriously poor safety record, despite officials efforts to improve standards.
More than 1,300 people were killed in mine accidents in 2012.
Deaths and injuries are often blamed on a failure to follow safety procedures.
