Global marches ahead of UN climate change meeting in NYC

Worldwide demonstrations ahead of a UN meeting in New York on how to reduce global carbon emissions have attracted hundreds of thousands of people, organisers say.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon attended the rally, ahead of a meeting which will see world leaders discuss climate change.

Around 2,000 protest marches have taken place in cities around the world, demanding greater action on climate change.
