A 24-year-old man has been stabbed to death in Croydon.
Adrian Young was attacked by a group of men, one armed with a knife, at about 16:45 BST on Tuesday in Cromwell Road, police said.
Officers and ambulance staff were called to a nearby road where Mr Young was found. He was taken to hospital but died two hours later.
Next of kin have been told. A post-mortem examination has yet to be organised.
Det Insp John McQuade said: "We believe that the stabbing took place following an altercation that had been going on in the area since earlier (in the) afternoon, although we retain an open mind regarding the cause of this dispute.
"I would urge anyone who can help us to piece together events to come forward."
There have been no arrests in connection with the murder.
