Six months ago, the Gangnam Style star Psy remained largely unknown outside of his native Korea, but today his video has been viewed more than a billion times on YouTube.
His success is a rare example of the popularity of Asian music outside its home market.
Guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei has been hugely successful in Japan and his music has been used in films such as Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill.
He explained to the BBC that the quieter life in London allows him to play to smaller audiences and fulfil his dream.
