Elderly care: Welsh assembly health committee urges change

The Welsh assembly's Health and Social Care Committee has called for the way older people are cared for to change.

They should lead more independent and stimulating lives and traditional care homes should be used less, according to a report.

Mark Drakeford, chair of the committee, told Felicity Evans on Good Morning Wales that often the decision to put a loved one into residential care is made in a crisis so people need to be given the right advice and extra help.
