Dotun Adebayo on Sunday 20.00 - 22.00

Nearly 70 percent of Britain's African and Caribbean population live in the capital. Dotun Adebayo looks at all the latest London news from a black perspective examining the issues which matter most to these communities.

Are you feeling the effects of the credit crunch yet?  In this Sunday's show (15th Nov), Dotun explored how the downturn is affecting black businesses and black Londoners, with a number of studio guests and callers.

But one section of the community appears to be enjoying an upturn.  For the first time it would appear that the average black woman's wages have overtaken the average white woman's, according to the Office of National Statistics.

Also on the show, Dotun paid tribute to Miriam Makeba, the South African singer who was known as Mama Africa, with calypsonian Alexander de Great.  And Alex revealed that he shares a birthday with Prince Charles, and he managed to compose a song about it on the spot.
