Jenny Joseph Friday 28 February 2003

Jenny Joseph's poems were first published in the early 1950s. Since then there have been numerous collections, including books for children and of prose. But ultimately what she is best known for is one poem which was twice voted the nation's favourite post-war poem: Warning: When I Am An Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple .

Now Jenny has written a new book that can best be described as a gardening book for the literary-minded. Led By The Nose describes a year in Jenny's garden through the different smells of each month's plants. Anna McNamee went to Gloucestershire to meet her.
