£50,000 Subaru rally car stolen outside Galloway hotel

Police in south west Scotland have launched an investigation after a rally car valued at about £50,000 was stolen from outside a hotel.

The incident happened some time between 0020 and 0720 GMT on Sunday at the Urr Valley Hotel in Castle Douglas.

The white Subaru Impreza had been due to take part in the Galloway Hills Rally being held in the area.

It belonged to one of the Irish crews which had travelled to compete in the event.
