Libyan student drawn to join fight against Gaddafi

The uprising against Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in Libya has seen ordinary people take to arms, such as 18-year-old Mahmoud.

The political science student had no interest in joining the military or taking part in a war until he saw the clashes in Benghazi.

He said he wanted to join the rebels in order to defend the city and his family, and hopes for a better Libya when the fighting ends.
