The extravagant clothes of the French aristocrat and fashion icon Jacqueline De Ribes are the subject of an new exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The 86-year-old Countess has lived her life in the spotlight, as one of the most celebrated fashion personas of the 20th Century.

Her transition from fashion swan to couture designer makes for compelling viewing, as the BBC's Laura Trevelyan reports.
