Sale of forests in England scrapped

Controversial plans to sell off thousands of acres of public woodland in England are to be scrapped.

Speaking in the House of Commons, Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman told MPs "I am sorry, we got this one wrong".

A new panel of experts will now look at public access and biodiversity within the publicly-owned forests.
