Glamorgan 167-7, no result

Rain prevented Glamorgan and Surrey producing a result at The Oval.

Jim Allenby struck a pulsating 63 from 44 balls, clearing the boundary three times as Glamorgan reached 167-7 from their 20 overs.

Mark Cosgrove's 43 from 30 balls provided further entertainment as the visitors posted what should have been a competitive total.

But the heavens opened during the mid-game break and Surrey were unable to face a ball in reply.

A crowd of 8,000 was denied the chance to see England star Kevin Pietersen, making his competition debut for Surrey, in batting action.
