Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a man who is currently wanted and missing.

Jordan Brown aged 25, is wanted for breaching a court order and failing to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court.He was due to attend court on 19 January in connection with a criminal damage case, and is from the Easton area of Bristol.

He is described as white, 5ft 8ins, medium build with brown eyes and dark brown hair.

Police have urged the public to not approach the man, but call 999 and give the call handler the reference number 5219108191.

If you know where he may be or have any other information which could help, call 101 and give the same reference number.

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a purse in Aldi, Stratton.

The victim was shopping at around 10am on 22 May when she left her purse on a display as she looked at other items.

Swindon Police would like to speak to the man in the above CCTV image.

Wiltshire Council has hit back at claims it has cut its spending on road maintenance.

It says a Freedom of Information request claiming that spending has halved since 2015 is incorrect and does not show £20m of investment into roads by the authority.

In 2018/19, £20m was invested, in part boosted by a £7.3m grant from central government to improve roads.

But some residents say not enough is being done.

Bill Jackson lives in Pewsey and said: "On the recently resurfaced A4 road leaving Marlborough towards Hungerford, firstly it seemed to take an age, but as you approach the top of the hill before the hospital there is a manhole cover which was wonky before the works and still is.

"Why on earth did they not put this right at the time? It will not be before long that they will have to re dig the road and fix it. Rather than fix an entire section they just do the bare minimum which does not solve the problem."

Dave Russell added: "I recently logged a claim to Wiltshire Council for a pot hole buckling two wheels and one needing to be welded as it had broke. The council did a temporary repair on the “crater” at least eight times without fully repairing it."

Bridget Wayman, cabinet member for Highways said improving the roads was an important are for the council.

She said: “We have significantly increased investment in maintaining and improving Wiltshire’s roads over the last ten years.

"Investment in our road network is a key priority for us, and almost double what it was in 2009/10.

The initial FoI published by Promain UK said Wiltshire’s spending had been cut by 53 per cent on road repairs since 2015.

However figures provided by Wiltshire Council show that spending, which includes Government grants was £27.2m in 2015 in 2016/17, £19.7m was spent; in 2017/18 £17.6m was invested and in 2018/19 20.3m was spent on roads.

Wiltshire Police are looking for witnesses after a fight broke out following a football match.

A group of men were involved in the fight outside a pub in Marlborough after a Champions League Final football match.

A 42-year-old man was assaulted during the incident on 1 June at 11:25pm outside of the White Harte Public House, also known as the Conservative Club.

The man sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital.

PC Tom Crabtree said: "This incident involved a number of men fighting after the Champions League Final football game between Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC had ended".

He added: "CCTV inquiries are ongoing, but we are aware that there were a large number of witnesses in the street."

Memorabilia from the popular comedy show Only Fools and Horses went under the hammer at East Bristol Auction House today.

Items sold included a script from the episode Heroes and Villains which fetched £4,600, and Del Boy's sovereign ring, which went for £1,000.

Additionally, a cheque used in the 1996 finale sold for £9,100.

In total, the collection made £32,800

East Bristol Auction House said they received interest from all over the UK.

Swindon Keypoint Incinerator has been given the go ahead according to campaigner Robert Ayres. He says campaigners are ‘very disappointed’.

A waste company was refused permission for the development by Swindon Borough Council but has now won an appeal.
