BRICS criticise Europeans over IMF leadership process

Help

The BRICS group of the world's major emerging economies have criticised Europe's efforts to make sure the next leader of the International Monetary Fund comes from the continent.

Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa claim the longstanding deal that has allowed only Europeans to lead the IMF "undermines the legitimacy of the Fund".

Rajiv Biswas, economist from IHS, has been telling the BBC the process is against all good principles of governance.
