Shape the ultimate Daft Punk playlist
Oh my – there is a new Daft Punk track, so what better excuse is there to celebrate the wonderful beats, bleeps and flashing robot masks then building a playlist around the marvellous music of the dynamic duo.
Well, calling it a new track is slightly misleading – it’s a ‘lost’ track, called Drive, originally sent to Soma Records along with Rollin’ and Scratchin’. The label asked the Frenchmen to do some more work on it, and Da Funk was put out in its place – the track which became a prophet if dance music was a religion.
Now Playing with Tom Robinson is going to celebrate Daft Punk and their influence tomorrow on the show, and it’s up to you what we play…
Tracks could include:
- * The best of Daft Punk
- * Artists they have influenced - think Justice, LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, Basement Jaxx, Delphic, Friendly Fires, SBTRKT (the list is endless)
- * Those who set the platform for Daft Punk - Kraftwerk, Gary Numan...
- * Music from films - not only have Daft Punk scored Tron but they made Electroma in 2006
The choice is up to you!
Let us know what you want to hear by leaving a comment on this blog, go to our Facebook page, send us a Tweet or an e-mail, or drag a track onto our Spotify playlist.
And remember to listen to the show tomorrow (Friday, August 5) from 7pm for the Ultimate Daft Punk Playlist.
(I’m very excited!!!)
