Cameron criticised over hiring US 'supercop'

The president of the Association of Chief Police Officers has criticised the decision by David Cameron to consult a former American police chief on dealing with street gangs and rioting.

Sir Hugh Orde told the Independent newspaper that he would prefer to see a more 'nuanced British approach'.

Meanwhile courts in England are operating throughout the weekend to process those who have been charged in connection with the unrest.

Andy Moore reports.
