22 year-old Lianne La Havas has been making music since she was handed a keyboard by her multi-instrumentalist father at the tender age of 7. The South Londoner picked up guitar from her dad too and wrote her first song at 11, adding influence from the likes of Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill along the way.

By the end of her teens Lianne was providing backing vocals for artists such as Paloma Faith, but it was only when she stepped forward with her own material for online sessions for Black Cab Sessions and French website La Blogothèque that La Havas first became noticed.

Trips to New York to work with Aqualung's Matt Hales, and debut EP Lost & Found followed, but it was an appearance on Later... with Jools Holland in October that shot the young-singer's into the spotlight and won La Havas the offer of a prestigious support slot on tour with fellow Later... guest Bon Iver.
