Former Deep Purple bassist and singer Glenn Hughes recalls the 1970s with Johnnie.

Former Deep Purple bassist and singer Glenn Hughes chats through his experiences of the 1970s with Johnnie.
Glenn joined Deep Purple in 1973 with singer David Coverdale, who later went on to form rock band Whitesnake. Glenn and Deep Purple parted ways in 1976, he went on to forge a solo career and even had a stint in Black Sabbath. After overcoming addictions which caused him serious health problems in the 1990's, he's now back and better than ever. In recent times, Glenn has joined forces with guitarist Joe Bonamassa to form the group Black Country Communion. He's released several solo albums and is now back out on the road, touring his 'Classic Deep Purple' show, which arrives in the UK on the 14th of May at the Holmfirth Picturedome.
Elsewhere in the show, another listener will induct a track into Johnnie's Jukebox and we'll look back on prominent musical stories of the week from the 1970's with the BBC archives.
