Why some of this year's advent calendars are causing a stir

Advent calendars are one of those Christmas must-haves that we used to be able to do perfectly well without. They’ve been transformed from an inexpensive treat to a costly and sometimes controversial buy. Gregg’s advertised its advent calendar this year with a crib scene where a sausage roll was in the manger flanked by the adoring Kings.
