Post-match stats
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
Blackburn promoted to the Championship
Meanwhile, Blackburn are back in the Championship after victory at Doncaster tonight clinched promotion from League One.
The celebrations are well and truly under way.
'We've got to believe'
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
Roma coach Eusebio di Francesco, speaking to Mediaset: "We started well, but then we lost our heads a bit.
"That reaction late on was very welcome, though, and we've got to believe in the comeback."
'Liverpool threadbare in midfield'
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
Robbie Fowler
Former Liverpool striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
Liverpool are threadbare. Top four is not guaranteed, but they need to start wrapping players up in cotton wool. As much as the top four is important, they need to keep this XI on the pitch. Other than Wijnaldum there are not more midfielders on that Liverpool bench. Emre Can is injured and I am not sure Adam Lallana will return. It is massively important we look after the players.
'A really bad injury' for Oxlade-Chamberlain
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
It doesn't sound like good news for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who was taken off on a stretcher in the first half.
"Oxlade-Chamberlain is probably a really bad injury," Jurgen Klopp told BT Sport. "That is bad news for us. The squad doesn't get bigger at the moment so we need to be creative in the next few games."
'Perfect for 80 mins'
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BT Sport: "Long term perfect performance for pretty much 80 minutes or so. We made defensively one mistake.Penalty is not a penalty but that is the situation and now it is 5-2. Of course we would have been more happy with 5-0 or 5-1 but 5-2 is a fantastic result. We go there and try again.
"We had all these runs behind, it changed the game completely and they couldn't cope with that. We scored these goals and could have scored more. That is all positive, at this moment it doesn't feel all positive because they scored these two goals but tomorrow I will see the really good part of the game.
"It is absolutely better than I thought before the game but at the moment of course a a little mistake."
'More pressure on Roma'
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
Robbie Fowler
Former Liverpool striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
Liverpool have the players and ammunition to hurt any team. And this time there might be more pressure on Roma because they have done this before, the comeback. This time they are not playing Barcelona, so they will think they have more of a chance. I think Liverpool will score goals so not I am the slightest bit worried.

Mary: Not too worried about this, could even be a good thing. Rather Liverpool were complacent in the last few minutes of this game than early in the next.
Dave: Liverpool will be better than Barca in Rome - capable of getting at least one away goal to seal it.
'Liverpool lost impetus without Salah'
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live
Before the game we said the front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are a unit. They all scored, assisted, created for each other. Liverpool lost a bit of impetus when Salah came off. Danny Ings did nothing wrong but the are a unit.
Police investigate serious assault at Anfield
Unfortunately, there was some bad news from Anfield tonight, with police investigating a serious assault of a man outside the ground before the match
Merseyside Police said the attack happened at about 19:35 BST outside the Albert pub on Walton Breck Road.
There were clashes between Liverpool and Roma supporters shortly before kick-off.
About 80 Roma fans are thought to have used a side road to reach an area populated by Liverpool supporters.

Ricky: Liverpool are the only team who can score 5 and still manage to look nervy and panic at the back.
Steven: At the start of the night 5-2 is a great result, but can't help feeling disappointed by the manner in which we've given them hope.
'Roma have done this before'
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live
For 40-50 minutes. Liverpool were breathtaking, dynamic. At 5-0 you were thinking can they get six or seven? Then they seemed a little subdued.
Roma have pedigree that have done this before, scoring three goal last time against Barcelona.
'You can't do that in the Champions League'
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, speaking to BT Sport: "It felt as though we were in full control but we basically gave them two goals, you can't do that in the Champions League. At the same time we played well, we will go there with a three goal advantage.
"Overall we have got to stay positive. We knew it would not be easy tonight, we know it will not be easy there. It will be a challenge but one we will look forward to and one we will hopefully finish them off."
'99% of fans would accept this'
Liverpool 5-2 Roma
Robbie Fowler
Former Liverpool striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
Liverpool were magnificent tonight. A little anxious and naive in the final few minutes, but before the game if you said Liverpool would score five and score two, 99% of the fans here would have taken that all day.
