Wales' success in the swimming pool continued on day six, as they took bronze in the 4x100m medley relay.

Swimmer Daniel Jervis also won silver in the 1500m freestyle, while Georgia Davies won bronze in the 50m backstroke.

Meanwhile, on the track, Melissa Courtney took a fine bronze for Wales in a personal best time of 4:03:44 in the women's 1500m.

But there was another defeat in netball and the men's hockey side lost 3-2 in England, despite leading 2-0.

However, David Phelps won 50m rifle prone gold with a Games record score and shooters Gareth Morris and Chris Watson won silver in the Queen's prize pairs.

Swimmer Duncan Scott took another medal for Scotland in the 200m individual medley, while in basketball, Scotland's men reached the semi-finals with a hard-fought win over Nigeria.

Ian Shaw and Alexander Walker won the bronze as the home nations dominated the final standings in the Queen's Prize pairs shooting.

For Northern Ireland, Aidan Walsh guaranteed at least a medal in the men's 69kg boxing, with unanimous points win in his quarter-final.

Meanwhile, for Jersey, Dan Halksworth made Commonwealth Games history as the first person to compete in three different sports at three different events.

But there were further medals in the swimming pool for England, as Holly Hibbott and Ellie Faulkner won silver and bronze in the women's 400m freestyle, while the men earned silver in the men's 4x100m medley relay.

Away from the finals, there was progression for England's women's basketball team, who reached the semi-finals with victory over Jamaica, while the men's hockey team fought back to beat Wales and also reach the semi-finals.

England's David Luckman and Parag Patel beat Wales' Gareth Morris and Chris Watson to retain their Commonwealth Queen's Prize pairs shooting title.

And there was great success for England's powerlifters. Louise Sugden won women's heavyweight silver after team-mates Zoe Newson and Ali Jawad took bronze in their events.

Bronze medalist Melissa Courtney speaking to BBC: "I couldn't believe how many welsh fans there were out there. It was great to see them all. The last two races I've done, I just raced really smart.

"I just focused on myself and didn't think about the rest of the race. I had no idea what the pace was, I just knew I had to keep going forwards."

That 100m freestyle race was my favourite of the competition. Getting that title was just absolutely incredible.

Australia's swimming contingent finish the Games with 73 medals. That's 28 gold, 21 silver and 24 bronze.

Nine golds came on the final day in the pool for Ariarne Titmus, Emily Seebohm, Mitch Larkin, Lakeisha Patterson, Brenden Hall, Jack McLoughlin and the 4x100m medley relay team.

England's Ben Proud was the only swimmer to break their dominance in the 50m free.

Proud also claimed silver alongside Adam Peaty, James Guy and Luke Greenbank in the men's relay.

Their team-mates Holly Hibbott and Ellie Faulkner won silver and bronze in the women's 400m freestyle.

Scot Duncan Scott won 200m individual medley silver and Wales' Georgia Davies took 50m backstroke bronze, and also took home bronze in the relay.
