untapped: Get your own radio show

Open auditions are being held to find a new presenter for a show on BBC Radio Nottingham.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for you to get your own radio show on BBC Radio Nottingham.

It’s a brand new show 5 nights a week, Monday to Friday from 7pm, on-air from the autumn. You don’t need any previous presenting experience, just a passion to be on the radio.

There are no boring stories – only boring storytellers

You’ll be the sort of person

Who is full of energy and charisma and loves Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

You’ll have an authentic voice of Notts. This new show will celebrate the diversity of the city and county.

To apply

Come to open auditions on Saturday 28 July at Level 2 Foyer, The Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, NG1 5ND.

Get well prepared and arrive at the venue from 09:30 to register.

Final entry for registration will be 16:00. Last audition will be 17:00, and there is no guarantee that you’ll be seen, depending on the number of people who want to audition.

You will need to give your contact details and have your photo taken as part of your registration. You can share that you’re coming to the auditions by adding yourself to our Facebook event or follow us on Twitter via #untappedbbc.

Auditions: Round One

You will appear in front of a panel of judges (with ‘talent show’ style buzzers). The audition will take place in the foyer and not the big stage.

You’ll have up to 60 seconds to tell your story. Your story could be about you or something local that you care about, in fact anything, so long as it’s your own story.

Each judge will give a verbal "Yes" or "No". Three or more "Yesses" mean you're through to Round Two.

Auditions: Round Two

A shortlist will be drawn-up by the BBC Nottingham management team. The team will look at video and audio recorded in Round One of the people who got three or more "Yesses".

What happens next?

If successful you will be contacted the following week, be asked to complete an application form and will be invited for an interview, this will include a voice test.
