A record-breaking sixth home win for Lewis Hamilton, who will now switch his sights to another record - most wins in Formula 1.

Eleven to go to equal it - 11 races remaining this season. Will he hit the target this season? On current form you cannot bet against it.

That's it from us. See you later!

    BBC Sport at Silverstone

Finn Mika Karjalainen and 10-year-old son Lauri came to Britain for the first time to watch their first ever F1 race, but were left rueing what might have been.

“It was a good race for Valtteri just bad luck for the safety car,” said Mika. “The safety car ruined his race and Lewis got a good pit stop so Valtteri should be the one who won.

“Lewis is such a good driver and very good when he is in first and so good at keeping that gap between him and Valtteri so Valtteri didn’t have anymore chances to win.”

Can Bottas still win this year’s world title? “It will be hard, it’s possible of course but he needs some miracles.

“I’ve had a good weekend and my first time in Britain has been pretty nice with everything around the circuit.”

  10. 'Until my dying day I want to prove them wrong'

Lewis Hamilton reflects on a deeper level on what it means to him to win in Britain.

He says: "I know that my teachers will be watching and until my dying day I want to prove them wrong, and all the negative things people have said to me.

"When I was eight years-old, I really didn't know what it was like to have money, and fame and I just want to keep going and inspiring people now.

"I always believe in my own ability and I just want to show other people to hold on to that too."

  11. 'It's my mistake'

    .

Sebastian Vettel discusses his thoughts after a disappointing result following yet another race compromising mistake.

"I think in the moment obviously i was upset, I destroyed my race but in the end its my mistake. I thought there was a gap that would open but it didn't and by then it was too late and I couldn't avoid it."

When asked if what happened in Canada affected his confidence: "I don't think so, all race I had good pace, we had a fight on our hands but the Red Bulls were faster than us today, it was a shame not to finish in the points."
