Aaron Ramsey: Arsenal midfielder set to leave after club withdraws contract offer

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is likely to leave the club next summer after the Gunners withdrew the offer of a new deal.
The four-year agreement was in place but before a final contract was drawn up, Arsenal pulled out.
When contacted by BBC Sport, neither party would say why the deal collapsed.
Ramsey's existing contract expires on 30 June 2019 which means the 27-year-old will become a free agent next summer - unless he is sold in January.
As things stand, the Welshman will also have the option of signing a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from 1 January.
Ramsey joined the Gunners in 2008 in a £4.8m move from hometown club Cardiff City.
He is Arsenal's longest-serving player and scored the winning goals in the 2014 and 2017 FA Cup finals.
Ramsey was an 84th-minute substitute in the Gunners' 3-1 defeat of Brentford in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

I've always like Ramsey. He's obviously had his injury issues, but he's a great player for Arsenal and it must be pretty demoralising playing for significantly lower wages than your midfield partners.

Oh yes, I mean the paltry £100k a week he currently earns must give him nightmares about how he's going to get by...
I like Ramsey as a footballer but I'm tired of individual players holding the club to ransom and disrupting the team over excessive pay.
Emery's stated that Ramsey is very important to the team, so this can't be about game time.
He's won trophies, so it's not about that.
If it was about a new challenge, he wouldn't have entertained negotiations at all.
Thanks, but goodbye!
Yet, this club is not prepared to settle for his contract demands despite falling over their feet for others who only turn up when they feel like it. I also despair of much of the plastic fanbase who overlook this superb player's contributions over the years.
Rambo is not irreplaceable - especially not for the wages he wants. Good player but lacks the positional discipline that Emery craves. Injury prone and he's not going to get better at his age.
Plus, him and Ozil don't click together.
Sell him for as much as we can in January.
Silly comments. Walcott went because he could not get game he did not go for the money. Van Persie went to win a title which he did. Sanchez very over rated and clearly went for the money I agree on that. Ramsey though has been Arsenals most consistent player over the last few years. His goals directly resulted in Arsenal winning cups. Ozil gets more money and does less
