  1. Post update

That's all from us for now.

Plenty of talking points from the afternoon's games.

And the action doesn't stop there. You can follow Manchester City's game against Newcastle right now by clicking here.

  2. 'Disappointment shows our ambition'

    Brighton 2-2 Fulham

    Fulham

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic speaking to Match of the Day: "We have a mixed sensation. After one hour we played very well and defended well. We made sloppy mistakes and paid the price.

"I want to look for positives. It is not an easy place to play football. Some teams will have worse experiences than us here. Our disappointment shows our ambition. I cannot be completely be satisfied. It is a good platform to build from.

"It is better I don't complain about the penalties. Aleksandar Mitrovic definitely touched the ball with his hand. The first one is an interpretation of the referee - my interpretation is completely different."

  3. 'It is not normal to lose four games'

    West Ham 0-1 Wolves

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini speaking to BBC MOTD:

On losing four games: "I don’t think it is a bad start, it is a very bad start. We can’t lose six points here at home like we have. Playing away against Liverpool and Arsenal and you don’t play so well is understandable. Here at home to lose we must be very worried.

On the performance: "In the first half we didn’t play like the home team looking for three points. The second we improved a lot, made that mistake in the last minute that lost us the game.

On Wolves' winner: "That is one action, we have to analyse the complete game. We had chances.

New signing still settling?: "You can always have a lot of excuses for results, but it is not normal to lose four games.

"In the training ground we are doing well, no lack of attitude. We have to take that work during the week to a game where there is that added pressure. It is just to four games , we won’t stop fighting now. We are just starting and will resolve that problem"

  4. 'I showed my quality'

    West Ham 0-1 Wolves

    Wolves

    Wolves winger Adam Traore:

On his performance: "I’ve been working with Nuno Espirito Santo and the staff and they have been showing me how the team plays. He told me to do what I need to do when I came on, to show my quality and that’s what I did. I am happy for the performance of the team, and this is what we needed.

On their result: "We’ve played well, played against City well, now we need to take the next step. More self belief, push up the table where we want to be."

  5. 'Southampton were the better team'

    Crystal palace 0-2 Southampton

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson talking to BBC Match of the Day: "We shouldn't have got something out of the match and we were second-best for at least 60 minutes of the game.

"I was hoping after the penalty save we would show that spirit and fight and they did show endeavour to get the equaliser but over the 90 minutes Southampton were the better team and deserved it.

"There's been no signs of us lacking desire or ability to do what we did in the opening three games, but the players didn't seem to be as alert or quick to the ball and when that happens you're left scratching your head.

"We didn't play well and Southampton did and if they'd scored the second from the penalty spot it would have been game over, but Wayne's save kept us in it."

  6. 'Happy with the effort'

    Everton 1-1 Huddersfield

    Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield boss David Wagner to BBC Sport: “I’m happy with the effort, performance and attitude from the players. The defensive shape and organisation was good. We limited Everton – everyone knows how difficult it can be here – they only had shots from distance and headers.

“The players did a fantastic job and worked their socks off and created their moments. I’m fine with this point although with a bit more relaxation on the ball we could have created more opportunities.

“We’ve discussed before that Everton don’t look the strongest on defending set-pieces. We’ve scored a great goal – we had worked on it and it paid off. Defensively our shape worked, our formation worked – we wanted to close the inside gaps and overload the wings. You have to show the passion and desire. “

  7. 'It wasn't a good game'

    Everton 1-1 Huddersfield

    Everton

Everton boss Marco Silva to BBC Sport: “We didn’t perform well. It wasn’t a good game.

"They had nine players behind the ball. When we play against that side of team, we have to play faster in certain moments of the game to disorganise them. We didn’t create enough chances to score.

“As well as Richarlison, Theo [Walcott] with a problem in his hips is another problem for us.

"It was important to score fast and react well after their goal. The second half was difficult as they just waited for our mistakes.”

  8. 'We are improving even without results'

    West Ham 0-1 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo speaking to BBC MOTD:

On the late win: "It feels good, even if we didn’t win the boys worked hard. Both teams could have won but in that moment were more in control. We were in control in the first half. Happy for the fans, it is massive to come a long way and get three points.

On their goal: "Sometimes in the moment both could have won, West Ham had a chance late, to get the goal means we recovered the ball so high up the pitch, our midfielder recovered it and that says so much about the team. The boys did well.

On Adama Traore: "He did well, he arrived late, he has things to adapt, the team has to recognise him but good work. Scoring his first Premier League goal means nothing, they only mark your name down when you are consistent and achieve something.

On confidence levels of his players: "The confidence comes from performances not results. From the first day of the season we are improving even without results. When you establish your standards and we reach them that means growth, today we did it. Now international break and we go again."

  9. 'We can improve' - Sarri

    Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri on BBC Match of the Day: “I’m really very happy with my players. For us now it’s not important to think of matchday four, it’s important to think of the next match.

“They were very organised and they defended very well but usually in this match you have to be patient because you can win in the last 20 minutes.

“At the moment we are doing very well but we can improve. For example, in the first half we needed to move the ball at a faster speed.

“We won the first three matches so now we are more confident. At the moment I am lucky because I can choose Willian or Pedro, or Giroud, Loftus-Cheek or Morata, I am here – the club wanted to see me here.

“We are at the beginning of the season, and the gap between us and Man City was 30 points last season – it’s difficult to close that gap in one season.”

  10. 'Despondent with the result but heartened by the performance' - Howe

    Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe BBC Match of the Day: "We felt we were in the game today - defensively we were really strong up until the first goal and that deflection broke us a bit.

"Nathan [Ake's] chance and Callum Wilson's chance were important moments for us.

"We were disappointed with the second goal because until then we were right in the match - it only takes one moment to get back in the game at that stage - but the second goal killed us.

"I think Chelsea will go very close this year - a lot of teams will struggle here. We're despondent with the result but heartened by the performance.

"August has been a strong month for us - we've shown our attributes - but now it's about kicking on and having a good September and a good rest of the season."

  11. Post update

    Brighton 2-2 Fulham

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Chris Hughton on Match of the Day: "We deserved to get back in the game. We lost momentum after we missed the first penalty. When you're 2-0 down you're always grateful for what you can get.

"To come from 2-0 down here and to show the character we did speaks volumes. There were good bits and bad bits but I want to think more about the good bits.

"Pascal Gross' penalty miss was a very good save. Pascal is our penalty taker. It is in the lap of the gods, the keeper guessed the right way - it's more a good save than bad miss."

  12. 'Sometimes it just doesn't work'

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Southampton

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, who saved a penalty in his side's loss to Southampton: "I was glad to save the penalty and then we had a few chances.

"Zaha is a massive player for us and the sooner we get him back on the pitch the better.

On home fans appearing to boo: "The fans are going to be frustrated but sometimes it just doesn't work for us.

"Benteke is looking sharp in training but it's unfortunate that he had a fantastic save from the keeper. I'm sure if he keeps it up, he will soon be banging them in.

"We will push on against Huddersfield and try to get the three points."

  13. 'I’m really very happy with my players' - Sarri

    Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri: “They defended very aggressively and made the situation not so easy. Usually this kind of match you can win in the last 20 minutes and we did.

“I don’t know if we are able to win something this season, but Eden Hazard is very important to us.

“In the first half it was very difficult to play – we needed to move the ball at a higher speed – but it wasn’t easy. We needed more movement without the ball, but I think we did well.

“I’m really very happy with my players at the moment. I don’t want to think about the last four matches – it’s better to think about the next one.”

  14. Post update

    West Ham 0-1 Wolves

    West Ham United

"It is a very bad start" says Manuel Pellegrini.

Full quotes to come from the West Ham boss.

  15. 'We were close today' - Ake

    Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake: "We were close today - we made it hard for them and we were very compact. We defended very well until the 75th minute when we conceded.

"We had a couple of good chances - mine just came to me too quickly and I hit it over the bar - if you want to win we need to take those chances.

"We were still in the game after the first goal but after the second goal it was too much. It was very hard for us today because we did well for so long."

  16. 'We were dominant'

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Southampton

    Southampton

Mark Hughes speaking to Match of the Day: "We were excellent today, certainly in the first half.

"In terms of the domination the first 45 minutes when you don't score goals it can affect you.

"We got our noses in front but we made it nervous towards the end until we were able to go up the other and score the second goal.

"After the defeat to Everton, I've seen a real purpose to everything we've done and I've been pleased with the reaction of the players.

"If we get the breaks like we did today, we will win.

"The penalty miss put us on edge and we just needed to calm ourselves down after that."

  17. Deserved win

    Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

    Danny Mills

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Chelsea deserved to win this game.

For the first 60 minutes Bournemouth were unbelievably negative.

    Hazard was brilliant all afternoon.

  18. 'We like what we're doing' - Alonso

    Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

    Chelsea

Marcos Alonso speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We are working very well, but there is still room for improvement. We're feeling good - we like what we're doing and we are 100% focused on what we're doing.

"It was difficult with them playing 4-5-1 but we were patient and we always know we have attacking players who can break teams down.

"The mentality and the fresh stuff we are doing - we're working hard on the training ground too - when we give everything we know we have the quality to win.

"Our focus now goes to the national teams but when we come back it will still be only the fifth game so there is a long way to go."

  19. 'Good game for the neutral'

    Brighton 2-2 Fulham

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton goalscorer Glenn Murray: "It was a good game for the neutral but we're a bit disappointed although were happy to come away with the draw.

"To be fair to Fulham they got control of the game and we showed some character to come back.

"We felt we let ourselves down the last 20 minutes of he first half. You've go nothing to lose at 2-0 down and we threw everything at it."
