  2. Stadium owners spend £4m on legal fees in disputes with West Ham

    Owners of London Stadium have spent £4m of taxpayers' money in legal fees in the past three years over disputes with tenants West Ham.

    The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) has been in dispute with the Hammers over several aspects of its 99-year lease.

    Gerry Murphy, LLDC deputy chief executive, confirmed the costs at a London Assembly meeting.

    The quirks of the fixture list mean Hughes has had more games away from home but he is happy with the way his side have reacted.

    Since I have come here we have only had around six games at home and that has been tough, especially as two were against Chelsea and Man City, and it seems we are constantly on the road.

    "Our away form has been ok and that was evident at Crystal Palace where we needed them. Our away form is a reflection on how we are trying to play.

    "We are a work in progress trying to do the right thing. I am pleased with our general play and am seeing good signs. Sometimes you just need some luck to be successful. That can be the difference between winning and losing."

  5. Continuity key for Wolves - Hughes

    Last up on the managerial front for now is Mark Hughes whose Southampton side go to Wolves on Saturday.

    "Wolves have been very impressive and very positive in what they do and have come off the back of a good season last season," he says.

    "They have had continuity in selection so they are reaping the benefits of that.They know what they are about and that is why they have made a good start."

  7. Morecambe boss 'uncomfortable' with Ince link

    Paul Ince played for England during their run to the semi-finals of Euro 1996.

    Now the former Manchester United and Inter Milan midfielder has been linked with a director of football role at League Two Morecambe.

    But the Shrimps' manager Jim Bentley says he is "uncomfortable" with those reports.

    Finally, Slavisa Jokanovic wants his Fulham side to concentrate from the start of the first whistle after conceding inside the first two minutes in each of their last two games.

    "It's crucial that we cut out the early mistakes," he said. "It makes it complicated for us. It's important that we avoid this situation in the future, and we have to find a solution."

    Fulham boss Salvisa Jokanovic was full of praise for Saturday's opponents.

    "Everton are a really good team," he added. "We're talking about a top-seven English side. They're a strong and experienced team, and our job is to find a solution, push hard and fight for the victory.

    "Goodison Park is a fantastic place to play football. We have a tough opponent ahead of us, but our only target is to win the game."

    The next Premier League manager to face the media is Fulham's Slavisa Jokanovic.

    Neeskens Kebano and Alfie Mawson will miss the game against Everton but apart from that, Jokanovic has a full squad to select from.

    We have an open mind and we always look to find the best solution for different games," he says. "I'll choose the best players for this game. We're undergoing a positive process."

    • Leicester have won five of their last six games against Newcastle in all competitions, losing the most recent clash between the two sides at the King Power Stadium back in April.
    • They have scored three goals on each of their last two Premier League visits to St James’ Park – the last side to score more than three goals in three consecutive top-flight away games against Newcastle were Preston North End, between 1952 and 1955.
    • Leicester have lost seven of their last 10 Premier League away games, winning the other three.
  14. Soyuncu ready for Foxes

    Back to the Premier League, and on the positive side for Leicester, manager Claude Puel says that Turkey defender Caglar Soyuncu is ready to step in.

    "Caglar is ready and he is improving his English, which is important to communicate with his team-mates and to share ideas," he said.

    “It’s important to know that he is a young player and he can wait at times but he is close to the team and is available if we have a problem in the team.”

    Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin said in Nyon: "We had two very strong bids.

    "The procedure was transparent and the voting democratic. I’m looking forward to seeing a fantastic Euros in 2024."

  20. Gray faces spell on the sidelines

    Leicester City

    Demarai Gray suffered the injury against Wolves in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night and there were initial fears he had broken his leg.

    "He will be out of the squad for between three and six weeks, then we shall see if he can recover quick," said Leicester manager Claude Puel.

    "It's not a serious injury, he needs rest and rehabilitation. He is not available for us for three weeks, minimum."
