Jon Spurling: My first competitive Arsenal game in the flesh this season. On this showing little change; entertaining going forward but still lacking the killer ball at key moments, and as lax as ever at the back. Still, onwards and upwards.

  3. 'Morata needs to gain confidence'

    PAOK Salonika 0-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri: "We were in control of the match for 90 minutes. We have had a lot of opportunities. We missed several. So I am really very happy with the three points, very happy with the performance, but I am not very happy with the result.

"When it is time to kill the match we have to kill the match. Alvaro Morata has to gain confidence with one, two, three goals. I am not able to give him confidence. In this match he has had three, four opportunities. He was unlucky.

"I hope for him that in the future I can try to help him, but the confidence can come only with goals. I have to say also, for maybe the first time in this season Alvaro was ready in the box. He was on the ball and was active."

On Pedro's injury: "I don't know exactly the situation. I have spoken with the doctor, but only for a few seconds. The doctor told me that probably it's not a very serious injury."

  4. Post update

Here's some reaction from Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri after their 1-0 victory over PAOK Salonika earlier this evening...

He also discusses the shoulder injury to Pedro.

  5. 'We need to continue to improve'

    FT: Arsenal 4-2 Vorskla Poltava

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Unai Emery speaking to BT Sport: "It was disappointing to see the two goals go in because there was progress in the 90 minutes. We want to do better in this minute.

"When you are 4-0 up you want to continue to be competitive and to score more goals not concede like today. For us it is very important to start this competition with this victory.

"We are giving chances to many players to find the pieces and for the confidence. We need to because we are going to play a lot of matches. We need players and need to give minutes to players. A victory in these situations is the best thing for us.

"It is good for many players. I want to continue to be competitive in each match. Some players are better when they are playing regularly.

"Today we are happy but it is clear that we need to continue to improve in things."

  6. 'We want to keep improving'

    FT: Arsenal 4-2 Vorskla Poltava

    Arsenal

Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck speaking to BT Sport: "It was a convincing win. It was difficult in the first half to impose our style of play but we had to be patient to try and implement things.

"We got a few goals but it was disappointing to concede a few too. With the squad that we have got, we are focused on the next game.

"Everybody looks forward to the next game and we always want to win. All the lads are enjoying it [under Unai Emery] and you can see the way he wants to play. We are right behind his ideas.

"We want to keep getting better and better. There are always standards and we want to keep on improving.

"It is healthy to have great players all over the pitch and to have everyone fighting to be in that starting XI. It is a good headache for the manager to have."

  7. Post update

    BBC Two

The Premier League show hosted by Gabby Logan is under way now.

You can watch online via the BBC iPlayer or live on your TV's via BBC Two.

  8. 'We have unbelievable quality'

    Villarreal 2-2 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard to the club's TV channel: "We are a good team when we show it, when we believe and when we go for the jugular. We can create chances against anyone.

"We have unbelievable quality. The big message is watch the second half tonight and start believing you are a very good team. It is a fantastic result. I asked them at half-time to just show a little bit more belief and confidence once we enter the final third.

"We told them before the game, 'we are capable of hurting Villarreal and the other teams in the group."

"To come here and put a point on the board, I'd have certainly taken it before the game. This, on paper, is probably the toughest test for us in the group."

  9. 'We want to go to the final'

    FT: Arsenal 4-2 Vorskla Poltava

    Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang speaking to BT Sport: "I think we payed well in the first half and in the beginning of the second as well. We have to improve and try to fight not to concede a goal like we did in the last minute.

"I didn't play the Europa League last year with the guys so I am really happy to be back in this competition. We want to go to the final of course.

"I hope we can do well in the next few games. We know the Premier League is long. We have to win these games straight away and perform quickly. It is good to start with a win."

Joe: Arsenal so lazy at 4-0. OK, not unjustified, but still.

Emmanuel: Arsenal victory tonight is very SOUR after those two goals

Dave: There are times when wins feel like draws. This Arsenal win feels just like that.

  12. Impressive individual performances

    FT: Arsenal 4-2 Vorskla Poltava

Plenty of positive performances from some of Arsenal's players.

Emile Smith-Rowe looked great when he came on, as did Matteo Guendouzi. But Alex Iwobi and Lucas Terreira impressed from the start.

  13. GOAL - RB Leipzig 2-3 Red Bull Salzburg

    Fredrik Gulbrandsen (Salzburg)

Leipzig were two goals down for 70 minutes before two strikes in 12 minutes from Konrad Laimer and Yussuf Poulsen drew the scores level.

But the visitors have just regained the lead through a late goal by Fredrik Gulbrandsen.

  14. FULL-TIME

    Arsenal 4-2 Vorskla Poltava

The referee blows the whistle immediately as the ball hits the back of the net. The players haven't even started their celebrations when the game is ended.

But it's three points for Arsenal. It was a dominating performance but those two late goals from Vorskla are a little disappointing.
