  1. Farewell

And on that note we shall say goodye.

West Ham have just taken the lead at Leicester. Join that game over here.

    Cheers all.

  2. 'I dreamt of a comeback'

    Liverpool 4-1 Cardiff

    Cardiff City

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock speaking to BBC Sport:

On the result: "I think it is a bit harsh, we were punished for making mistakes. We had opportunities in the first half and made the wrong decisions. I said at half time if we could improve we could have given them a good game, especially if we scored the next goal.

"I had to make a few changes with Gunnarsson coming back from injury, and you get punished when you have got quality subs like they do.

"Anfield is an intimidating place. Our fans were fantastic, they know we are up against it. The lads gave everything. It was so quiet when Paterson scored, you had to dream of a comeback. I think it is my first goal here as a manager."

On having to play Liverpool now: "It was cruel when we had a good win against Fulham the week before, we get Liverpool away, there is not much tougher. A lot of pluses in the past few games, we’re limited but improving and the fans are with us."

On if Liverpool can win the Premier League: "I think Liverpool have got more chance of winning the Champions league, I think Manchester City will be too strong for them in the league but this could be their year in the Champions League."

  3. 'Conceding helped us'

    Liverpool 4-1 Cardiff

    Liverpool

    Cardiff goal

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC Sport:

On the performance: "If you are not patient against Cardiff you will not find space. They don’t give it away. In the decisive areas it makes it is quite tricky. The start was good, got the goal and had chances.

"Because of the Wednesday game concentration dropped, we gave the ball away, set pieces were so hard because they are so dangerous. We defended them pretty well. 1-0 at half time, all good. Sadio scores, but it doesn’t change anything for Cardiff, very compact still.

"But 90 minutes in the creative mood costs you. The boys don’t like it, I don’t like it, but the goal helped because at 2-1 Cardiff started believing and we used the space for nice goals. Happy because it is difficult, playing Wednesday and Saturday, we are through it with maximum points. That is good."

On Shaqiri: "Having a good footballer helps. Four games in a row he has played with us and his country so clear he would not start today. Bringing him on is a good thing to do. We have a good squad, if they stay fit we have a lot of players who can play. He had a good impact."

On topping the table: "In my whole life I wanted to be top for 24 hours. Not too decisive but 26 points is good."

  4. Out of luck, out of time?

    Watford 3-0 Huddersfield

    • Huddersfield have hit the woodwork more times (6) than they’ve scored goals (4) in the Premier League this season.
    • Huddersfield are winless in 15 games in all competitions (D5 L10), their worst run since November 2000 (19 games without a win).
  5. Post update

The good news is that Newcastle stayed up in 1899. The Wednesday and Bolton went down.

  6. 120 years and counting...

    Southampton 0-0 Newcastle

    • Newcastle have failed to win any of their opening 10 matches of a league season for just the second time in their history, last doing so 120 years ago, back in the 1898-99 top-flight campaign.
  7. 'Our worst performance defensively'

    Watford 3-0 Huddersfield

    Huddersfield Town

    David Wagner

Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner to MOTD: "Defensively this was not the performance we wanted. We didn’t look solid, stable or compact. In open play we were not aggressive enough or make them uncomfortable. Defensively we were not good enough to collect points, you have to use your opportunities and we have not done that today

"We did not play on our level, this was not the level we need to collect some points. We looked good with the ball, created dangerous moments but did not take our opportunities.

"It was a top performance by Ben Foster, he had the luck as well when we hit the bar. I am disappointed because in recent weeks we had defended better, but it was our worst performance defensively for a while. We created chances, but didn’t have the luck when we hit the bar. If we want to collect points we have to do well offensively and defensively.

"Next week against Fulham is a belter and an opportunity that we have to use."

  8. 'I must be brave, keep going and encourage my team'

    Fulham 0-3 Bournemouth

    Fulham

    Slavisa Jokanovic

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic, speaking to Match of the Day: "We tried to find a bit of better distance between lines and players and we made one big mistake at the start of the game for the penalty. We tried to be organised. We mad another mistake for the second goal and after the sending off it was really difficult.

"We made good work and tried to stop conceding so many, we weren't very successful today but the players are fighting well. We have enough quality to score but we can't find a way to find a clean sheet. The Premier League is tough not just for us but for many clubs. We are making expensive mistakes.

"I am not thinking about my future. I will be ready for the next challenge. I am living my present and that is today a very hard defeat. I must be brave and keep going and encourage my team."

  9. Racking them up

    Fulham 0-3 Bournemouth

    Wilson
    • Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has been directly involved in 10 goals in his last 11 appearances in the Premier League (six goals and four assists).
    • Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks has scored three goals in his last four league appearances, as many as he had in his previous 35.
  10. 'We've played better than today'

    Watford 3-0 Huddersfield

    Watford

    Watford goal

Watford manager Javi Gracia to MOTD: "I enjoyed it because we got a good result, but we have played better in other games than today. They had chances to score in the first half, Ben Foster made two or three good saves and after that we dominated. But we have many things to improve. After winning at Wolves we felt the confidence to play and score goals.

"I don’t like only to speak about some players; our strength is the group and the squad. It was difficult to keep the same team but it’s good for the team. They all deserve to play, that’s a good sign for the team, all of them have great commitment, and that is good for us.

"I always expect the best of players, I know what they are capable of and I know they will always focus on the next game."

  11. 'We controlled the game'

    Liverpool 4-1 Cardiff

    Liverpool

    Sadio Mane

Liverpool winger Sadio Mane speaking to BBC Sport:

"Happy for the result and the performance of the team. A little tight in the second half but at the end we controlled the game, tried to push on and scored twice to make it easier.

"A team like this are never easy to play, sometimes you have to be patient, try not to lose the ball. At the end we scored four goals and deserved to win.

"I think we conceded because we lacked communication, Normally I am with Alberto [Moreno] on the left but I was in midfield and 1-1 it is not easy for Moreno. That is part of football, we will try to learn from that.

"I was very happy of course to score but most important is the three points."

  12. Post update

    Glenn Hoddle

If you are just joining us, former England manager Glenn Hoddle is in hospital. You can read more here.

  13. 'The one we looked up to'

    Glenn hoddle

Brighton manager Chris Hughton on former Tottenham team-mate Glenn Hoddle: "At this moment my thoughts and prayers go to him, I heard the news as I was coming off the pitch. Glenn is a friend, I have known him for a long time back to my Spurs youth days.

"He was a model professional, the one we looked up to and we wish him all the best."

  14. 'We are in a confident mood'

    Brighton 1-0 Wolves

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Chris Hughton to MOTD: "I am delighted, we had to really earn it against a very good side. They threatened a lot and we had to defend really well. It was hard-earned.

"We are not playing at our best, nowhere near. We have players who are not at their level, we are not good on the ball but we are defending really well.

"Glenn Murray is a poacher, when the ball comes his way you are confident it will end up in the net. He has a great desire to keep on playing.

"Wolves will have a good season. We are realists, we know how tough this competition is. But we are in a confident mood."

  15. 'A positive result'

    Southampton 0-0 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez: “In the circumstances it is a positive result, a clean sheet and one point away.

“We are in a difficult position but it is a small stop forward in terms of confidence and showing team we can compete and do what expecting to do.

“The team is working hard so I can not complain.”

  16. 'Need a killer edge'

    Southampton 0-0 Newcastle

    Southampton

    Mark Hughes

Saints boss Mark Hughes: "It is two games back to back that defensively we have been rock solid. At the top end of the pitch we need to make more of the chances we are creating, in moments we need a killer edge to our play.

"Sometimes you need something to fly off someone’s head, back of the head and we’ll be off and running.

"I can’t fault players, in terms of what wetalk about.

"Once again we have not got maximum points at home which is dragging on."

  17. 'A better performance than the win at Watford'

    Fulham 0-3 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

    David Brooks

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe, speaking to Match of the Day: "Really pleased today. We knew it would be tough against a good side. They have good players who can hurt you. We were defensively very good. It was a better performance than the Watford one where we also played well and got a lot of plaudits."

On David Brooks: "Really impressive from him today. He has got better as the season has gone on. He fits well into the team. The biggest compliment I can pay him is there hasn't been a big bedding in period.

"It goes to show the strength of our squad. We don't just have one string to our bow. To win without Josh (King) was big for us.

"We will keep going game by game and see what happens."

SMS Message: No doubt about it now - Saints are in for a season of relying on three other teams getting worse results every weekend. 19. 'We are here for the manager and he is here for us'

    Fulham 0-3 Bournemouth

    Fulham

Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney: "We tried to go back to basics and keep it simple at the start. They edged it first half. At 1-0 there was only one team going to get back in it and we made a mistake. We have conceded too many goals. We tried to take something away from the creativity and keep the ball out of our net but it didn't work.

"Bournemouth have been in the Premier League a long time. We are still trying to find our feet. We have to stick together and believe we have enough in the dressing room.

"This is the hardest league in the world. We knew it would be difficult. We are all together. The manager is here for us and we are here for him."
