Tottenham to play Crystal Palace in first game at new stadium

Tottenham's new 62,062-capacity stadium is located on the site of their old White Hart Lane home.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed they will play the first game in their new stadium against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, 3 April.

The opponents for Spurs' first game at the stadium were dependent on Brighton's FA Cup campaign - they beat Millwall to advance to the last four.

That Premier League match with Brighton will now be played on 23 or 24 April.

The new stadium will also host Spurs' Champions League quarter-final first leg against Manchester City on 9 April.

Tottenham, who have played homes games at Wembley this season, were scheduled to move to the new White Hart Lane stadium in September but construction was delayed several times.

    Fantastic stadium. It looks absolutely amazing. The Emirates is a great stadium, this is even better. A proper football stadium. Fans close to the pitch, and 17,500 in a single tier in the South stand. Increased revenue will take Spurs to the next level. Brilliant news for the club. Can't wait to get in there. Laugh at any negative posts that appear on here, it just show how jealous the haters are

    Big Al amd Sven, I really don’t mind Spurs and you have a great hardcore of fans. What you will find is the Arsenal effect. If everything is going well you will fill the ground initially but if trophies don’t come your hardcore support will still be there but some of the “new” supporters who are not used to going will start to drop off. £70 sometimes twice a week plus travel can become a big ask.

    Great news for this generation and future generations in an area of London which is not privileged and blighted by severe deprivation. This has provided new development, incomes and continued employment for local people and improvement in the community. The club also provides very good facilities for young English players and greatly contibutes to England national team. THFC a 21st century team

    Liverpool fan here, can't see the point in all the hate at Spurs stadium, it's a beauty and so what it's late, it's not like that has ever happened before. The problem for Spurs it will take a while to bed in...Look at Arsenal and Southampton

    All this 'Jealousy' tells you all you need to know about just how good Tottenham's stadium is going to be...!!

    We'll have the best stadium, with the best atmosphere in Europe, if not the word...!!!

    A stadium fit for the PL and Champions League titles...!!!

    #11 Archie Pooch . Nothing to do with having a cheap shot at Tottenham, it's to have a level playing field for the rest of the league. I'd sooner watch League Two football live anyway where you can actually feel part of the club.

    What's the point now only 4 odd games left. Besides I thought Premier league rules stated you couldn't play at more than one venue in a season.

    Finally, Spurs came true to their word that WHL is the only place in London (apart from Wembley) where you can to watch the UCL this season, albeit for only one game.
