'My players put their bodies on the line'
FT: South Africa 0-1 China
South Africa captain Janine van Wyk: "It's disappointing for us to walk away with defeat after a hard-fought game. A lack of concentration led to a goal. It was pretty equal. We knew it was going to be a tough match against a Chinese team.
"We could not have done more. I can just say it was a fantastic performance from every single player.
"We are really getting closer to tougher opponents."
Coach Desiree Ellis:
"They were once again magnificent. We conceded from a set-piece. We lost concentration there. We had ample opportunities.
"We said it would be a battle and like a final. Tonight we showed we are getting close. We gave as good as they gave.
"My players put their bodies on the line."

Niyi: A positive to take away for the South Africans' is their solidity in defence. It has been admirable since the African Cup of Nations. And they have a young team. I see a good and future.
