Leandro Trossard: Brighton sign Genk midfielder

Brighton have confirmed the signing of midfielder Leandro Trossard from Genk for an undisclosed fee.
Trossard, 24, joins the Seagulls on a four-year deal and is their second signing of the summer, after Matt Clarke's arrival from Portsmouth.
The Belgian joined Genk in 2012 but went on four loan moves before claiming a place in their first-team squad.
He helped them win their first Belgian title in eight years in 2018-19, scoring 15 goals in 35 appearances.
Trossard was given the captain's armband towards the end of the campaign.
"We are delighted to welcome Leandro to the club and excited about the impact he can have for us," Brighton manager Graham Potter said.
"He's an attack-minded player who had a very impressive season last year in helping Genk win the league title.
"At 24, he also brings good experience, having captained the side and featured many times in the Europa League."
Trossard joined Genk's youth academy in 2010 and was promoted to the senior squad two years later, making his debut towards the end of the 2011-12 campaign.
Loan spells at Lommel United, Westerlo and OH Leuven followed before he became a regular at Genk in the 2016-17 season.
Since then, the midfielder, who has represented Belgium from under-16 to under-21 level, has scored 39 goals in 118 appearances.

Untried over here but has a lot of potential, plus an attacking intent from Potter so ticks boxes for many. Welcome to Brighton, Leandro.
Agreed either children or just pathetic individuals. 😀
Welcome Leandro
Please explain why Chris Hughton was wrongly sacked, as BHA supporter I sat through the awful football that was being played and as much as I like CH he had taken Brighton as far as he could. Three wins out of the last 23 games and the fact that we were lucky there were 3 teams worse than us he had to go, managers have been sacked for a lot less.
No Hazard or De Bruine but a talented player never the less.
Welcome Trossard, what an incredible club you've joined - enjoy!!!!!
They have an owner that loves them, a quality ground (and training facilities), and some very passionate fans (in the North Stand).
So they got rid of CH, they are not the 1st and will not be the last to make such decisions. The man at the top wanted change (he listens to the fans - many fans would kill for this) and changed it.
Good luck
BOING BOING!
