South Africa, who seemed to really miss influential captain and centre Bongi Msomi who went off injured in the first half, now have a day off on Friday to regroup before facing the defending champions for a place in the final.
As sport goes, that was wonderful. It had it all. Heart, passion, flair, skill, individual brilliance and tension.

good day before we went on the court. We wanted to stamp our authority early and we did. That was probably one of our
partnership and best team performances in a few years. I am loving playing out
there."
On playing New Zealand in the semi-final:
"All we can say is bring it on. We know we have to beat the top teams to
lift the trophy. We will do our homework, analyse their defence over the rest day and try and beat them. All we can do
is our best."

South Africa coach Norma Plummer: "England were on the money, it was pretty obvious. We were nervous as this is the first time we've been here in 25 years. It's made us realise the next two games you have to go in and handle the pressure.
"They were all nervous. You don't process things when you're nervous and things go past you. It's a real wake up call that you've got to be able to handle it.
"Australia were lucky to not draw with New Zealand so it's all there to play for."
'Our attackers utilised the fact that they were not playing their best'

England coach Tracy Neville: "I think one of the things we wanted to do was work on the
plays we have trying to do throughout the tournament. I told the players to go
out and have a crack at it and enjoy it and we did that.
"I love how South Africa play, that
game was about who mentally and physically had it and we were the better side today. They have world class defenders
and I think our attackers utilised the fact that they were not playing their best.
"With this
team nothing is ever perfect and I don’t think we ever will be but we go out
there to enjoy it and we want to win every game."

England's victory over South Africa means they will take on the Silver Ferns in the semi-final on Saturday (15:00 BST).
The Proteas will play Australia (Saturday 11:15 BST).
